Morrison/Johnson wasn't a swap deal. We pulled Birmingham's pants down with the fee for Johnson
 
Two people have told me that Everton have taken over our debt to Spurs, £20 mill was the figure mentioned in both cases. If this were to be true, then £20 mill plus McNeil would be a lot more palatable. Really hope that this is true, but have my doubts as this forum usually has an ear close to the ground.

It would be almost inconceivable that the 35m for Johnson was paid in one payment, probably like any deal with a structured payment, i would be surprised if we had even paid half, if Everton pick up the remaining payments on his deal, then it is like a 10/15m add on.

I hadn't considered this but it makes sense.

It makes the deal possibly somewhat more sensible.

Maybe even to our advantage.
