I think people get carried away by the overwhelming one way narrative of media reinforcement......Same thing happened to me with the Gulf wars, but now I'm far more skeptical.

No one seems to bring up or maybe they don't know that the CIA director Gabbard recently stated that they had no evidence that Iran had a nuclear bomb programme......in other words this could just be a narrative to justify the war and get rid of a regional opponent.

Now when you start a war, you are geniunely considered to be in the wrong....I think we all agree that Russia (whatever their justifications) were wrong to attack Ukraine in 2022.

But I think that when it comes to wars against Muslims we just automatically have sympathy about it.

What I'd say is that while I'm fully against the expansion of Islam in the UK, that doesn't mean that I think killing innocent Muslims in buildings or just attacking an Islamic state is ok because it doesn't like you.

In my view for Israel to be supported for their claim then Israel should be made to prove that Iran was making a nuclear bomb (which by the way I think is kind of moot because they could just sodding buy the actual bombs from North Korea).....it's the launch systems that are far harder to come by.

I tend to agree. My first reaction was and I'm sure I mentioned it earlier that we have heard the trope before for going to war "weapons of mass destruction" and then they never found anything.

And it is strange that the whole media and governments seem to be on the same page with this one. And since Covid I am very skeptical of the media and the agendas they push.

Maybe there is alternative agendas at play and maybe their is an oil deal to made out of the new regime when it's in place.

That being said if the reasons we are told are true and that Iran were ramping up nuclear weapons and plan to use on Israel then I would support taking out their military operations.

And on a serious note, I think this particular conflict is all about oil ,...again. We saw it with Iraq, and now it's happening to Iran. Israel being the convenient Proxy. Lets see how many civilian deaths it takes to facilitate regime change. Then let's see if a power vacuum can be avoided, so we don't see the likes of Islamic State running the show.
It's a bit baffling that the West's Foreign Policy seems to think that having wars brings a longer term peace to these regions. All their previous attempts have back-fired badly, and you'd think there might be some additional planning going into these things. But no, let's give a psychopath a whole load of top class weapons and everything will be fine.

The only antisemitism accusation on this thread was someone saying Jews control the banks and politics. Which, unless you have been living under a rock your entire adult life, is an antisemitic trope and factually incorrect.

Iraq? The UK is not a combatant in this war. The UK supports Israel as they are allies, are opposed to Iran getting a nuke and have to protect their naval bases in the region and commercial shipping.
