Israel v Hamas

When Israel attacked Hezbollah in Lebanon types like Steely and Saturn were horrified and said innocents die, civilians don't have anything to do with it they are victims.

Yet.

"Pro-Hezbollah protests break out in Lebanon"

So the people want them to fight the Jew. I'm not buying for a minute that Gazans aren't the same.

No I'm not. Non Hamas members, Gazans who worked for Jews in the Kibbutz, plus ordinary excited Palestinians, out there joining in

It's difficult when people don't know that Palestine as such does not exist, and that tjhe area of the West Bank controlled by the PA is a completely different entity to Gaza.

If the people who lived in Gaza rejected Hamas it would have ceased to be years ago.
Anyone who believes the population of Gaza do not support Hamas is in denial.

The fervour may have waned a bit now as Hamas steals the food aid and kills people trying to get aid etc but that is driven by today's plight rather than a complete change of heart IMO

That does not mean the deaths of children in the war that Hamas started is ok etc.

It does mean war is terrible and there are consequences to actions.

That's somewhat biased in that in the late 40's there were plenty of terrible things done by the Jewish militias and terror gangs to Arabs any anybody else in their way such as British soldiers.

That being said, we don't have a time machine and we are where we are.

Surely the best target now is to have an end to the fighting in Gaza and to have this Hamas needs to be eradicated and post that no attacks on Israel takes away Israel's reason to fight a war in Gaza.

If by faith you mean a belief in an Almighty then no. I am an atheist.

However, my views have to be driven by a secular faith in something, even if that is one informed by Judeo-Christian values. Not killing children, non-combatants or others who are clearly innocent of the crimes committed on 7 October generally falls under that faith.

On Judeo-Christian, you support Israel and, by your posts, this is seemingly without criticism. Yet, as a Christian yourself, I am interested in your stance on Jews killing Palestinian Christians with impunity.

If it helps, Christians cannot be members of the Islamist Hamas.
Lots of assumptions from you. You label me a Christian. Certainly, I put C of E on forms when asked, the particular Protestant denomination that I was brought up in. I don’t attend church or have a coherent belief in a god (C of E is pretty flexible on that sort of thing!) I don’t believe that everything spontaneously sprang into existence either. Don’t have much respect for organised religion – far too much coercion and child abuse. Religion should be a personal private thing.
I regret the deaths of anyone, regardless of their religion. Wars are horrible things; non-combatants die in all wars. It boils down to whose side do you want to win, Israel or Islamic Fascism. The criticism of Israel goes way beyond any criticism of say Putin or the 30,000 children killed in the Syrian civil war. Much of the pro-Hamas support has at its roots, antisemitism and the general anti-western sentiments of the Left epitomized by the likes of Corbyn and to some extent, David Lammy.
