Israel v Hamas

Trump has given some sort of deadline on Sunday for Hamas to accept the peace deal offered, but they may have reservations. Hamas (as opposed to the Palestinian population) were not part of the negotiations regarding the deal, and they also may not be in a position to fulfil some of the deal requirements.
So if Israel attacks if Hamas fail to comply with the deadline, who do we think might suffer the most ?

With conditions that the Netanyahu government could never accept, so won’t

It’s a bluff which will go nowhere. That doesn’t stop Trump claiming it as a breakthrough and instructing Israel to stop bombing. Yes, instructing! Says a lot about who he thinks is running the show.

After being humiliated, again, by Putin, Trump is going to be humiliated, again, by Netanyahu.

What a winner!
 
I think the Palestinians are already pretty busy this weekend, finding food and shelter, and avoid being killed by Israeli bombs, in spite of efforts being made for a ceasefire.
 
Netanyahu has just given his response. I detest being pessimistic or cynical but this isn’t a peace deal. It’s going nowhere. Trust doesn’t exist.

Hamas won’t release the hostages, or surrender their weapons, without iron clad guarantees that Israel won’t use a pretext to come back in and resume the bombing. Those guarantees are not available unless a neutral peace keeping force under UN control is installed. Promises from Trump are as permanent as ones written on a beach.

The Netanyahu government won’t agree to Hamas not surrendering their weapons, let alone being involved in any future authority. Nor will they, or Trump, agree to UN involvement.

These positions are unbridgeable. There isn’t a compromise in sight.

Being cynical I think Trump knows this and it’s all window dressing for his ridiculous claim to be worthy of the Peace Prize.

Yup. 40 boats, 500 people. That's about 12 or 13 a boat. These range from 30-55ft monohulls, so they are going to be FULL. A 35 footer usually has max 6 berths, the 55ft about 12, so f*** knows where they are sleeping, all over the cockpit and deck by the looks of it. Ask any yachty and they'll tell you just how much space is a premium on a sailboat, so "supplies for gaza" my arse, they will have just about enough for themselves to cover the several hundred miles at sea they've sailed from Spain.

Matthew Syed in the Sunday Times today tells a very telling account of him trying to interview PA protesters at yesterday’s rally. Let’s just say that there isn’t much intelligence or reasoning in that mob.
