Israel v Hamas

The offer is clever.....it's clever, I have to give that to them.

Offering the fighters the option of 'safe passage', clever....unlikely to be accepted but very good from a PR perspective.

Though Trump and Netty don't exactly have much credibility on not killing them anyway after Qatar. Personally I think you have to stick to your words.

Personally, I don't think Gaza is going to get anything better than this offer.

If they don't take the offer then Netanyahu will have this in response when arguing about what comes next.

Which is a lot more dead Palestinians.
The weaknesses are obvious. It’s full of holes that allow either side to blame the other for a breakdown. Which Israel are almost certain to do because the right wing who control Netanyahu won’t settle until they occupy Gaza.

The other major weakness is any “Board of Peace” headed by Trump will be dysfunctional from the outset.

I'd agree with your first paragraph.

Still, it's the best they are going to get and it's far better for far less death.

It would involve indoctrination camps though because a lot of people would need the kind of thing done post WW2 in Germany.

Worked on Germans, worked on the Japanese.....I don't think it works here as well. It would take a whole new generation. But it's probably better than the alternative to what Israel will do.....In theory, they are saying those who won't roll with it have 'safe passage'.

It's that or a last stand where a ton of civilians die.

So is that a yes to the best deal for peace or no because trumps involved.

So, Hamas fighters can get amnesty and leave Gaza, to where?

Which country would take them?

This seems to be a fairly big flaw, and the one's who don't surrender?

There will be a constant terrorist campaign by those who hide away, and who will police Gaza, who will be the force to seek and destroy the remaining Hamas fighters?

Luckily the anti war criminal Blair is involved so all is well

You know full well your comment is meaningless and just to trigger, but it's so obvious.

But maybe you're subtle and trying to draw out comments so you can call for band.

Please return to the BBS, there must be left of centre moderates there who you can consider extreme right wing fascists
There used to be a rule regarding personal attacks

More women with their tops off don't you mean?

I like the feminist protests when their decide to 'free the t1ts' as it were.

Though I can never remember what they are moaning about....oh yeah, this one is about stopping war or something....stopping bras more like.

There aren't any in top jobs I. Palestinian or Israeli government as far as I can see

Well this is a conundrum. There's a few who are fond of Donald but despise Tony......

Whether this plan is fair and is a success I couldn't say. However one thing I will say is that win or lose Tony Blair will walk away with a sack load of money.

The outline of a plan for peace, which seems fair and reasonable. The devil is in the detail and there might be a few bumps in the road. Why 60,000 had to die, before securing the release of hostages is slightly bemusing. Hamas and the right wing Israeli Government did that.
A big plus for everyone is that Hamas will be gone. One way or another.

I don't think Netanyahu will stay long in Israel after this. The UN are chasing him for war crimes. i can see him moving to the USA and living his days in a safe community away from publicity

The Blair family are primarily property investors, and already making a shed-load. I see the politics thing as a side-interest, maybe looking for Nobel Prizes for Blair and Trump.

Hoping the region might be slightly more stable after this is done and dusted.

It’s neither.

Anyone who believes this is a deal for peace is deluding themselves. It’s an opportunity for Hamas to surrender with no guarantees about what would follow.

What’s lacking are any sanctions on Israel if they break the agreement. The reverse being true. They are offered the USA turning a blind eye to Israel “finishing the job” if Hamas break it, which has always been their expectation. So they will find a reason why Hamas have broken the deal.

Netanyahu has already distanced himself from any possibility of either a Palestinian state or the withdrawal of the IDF from Gaza and his hard right coalition partners are refusing parts of the framework. Meanwhile Hamas have said them surrendering their weapons whilst the IDF remain in Gaza is a red line. Not promising!

This feels to me to be just another attempt by Trump to pretend he is a worthwhile candidate for the Peace Prize, when the truth is it’s a fig leaf trying to obscure the blazing green light he is handing to the Netanyahu government to carry on with their plan to completely occupy Gaza.

Many Jews do share the view which is not surprising given they are informed by generations of suffering similar acts.

However, many Israeli's object to the actions wholly based on the risk to the remaining hostages. They care not a fig for the Palestinians.

By "left" you presumably mean the so-called "liberal elites"; and those who largely control the economy who benefit from the influx of cheap and willing labour?

The latter are hardly left.

And there are many on the real "left" - especially those on the ultra end - who are largely lock-step with you on immigration. Chatting to some hard left, militant union type, I suspect you will be appalled by how many views you share!
Any traditional socialist should be against mass immigration. It undermines the common man.

Yes we should honour Hamas in all of this, and condemn someone for wanting a peace prize if they deliver a peace that's never been achieved before

What did Obama get his for again?

If Hamas is prepared to sign a peace deal, it is because they have been damaged to a level where they cannot function.

No one is honouring Hamas. You can criticise both sides.

Trump only ever wants what’s best for him. Compassion for others doesn’t exist in him.

Obama is a genuine man who made real efforts to try to lower tensions and find compromises in situations in which effective diplomacy is very difficult. The award of the Prize was intended to help him.

You will always find at least a couple of t1ts in top jobs anywhere you look.

Just perhaps not as aesthetically pleasing to look at....but nevertheless.

You would have thought that the Pro Palestine people would be delighted at the prospect of a deal for the immediate end to the war, the ousting of Hamas and the rebuilding of Gaza.

Maybe they are Hamas Supporters after all? 🤷🏻‍♂️
