Israel v Hamas

The attack in Qatar is really quite outrageous.

For one thing Qatar is an official ally of the US and these negotiators were approved to be there by the US......but was it a ruse? Because on the face of it maybe it had to be.

Because, the idea that the US wasn't involved....at least at the security state level....is nonsense.

The US control their airspace there and must have turned off their air defences.

I can well believe that Trump wasn't told or didn't give permission......Because this is a big embarrassment for him....He likes to be liked by the Gulf States and makes a big play of courting both Qatar and Saudi.

It just emboldens my view that Trump is Mossad/CIA's bitch.
 
God knows what Spindle has a yellow for.

Can I just venture the view that Spindle is entertaining and that is a quality worth keeping. Strong opinions are so much better than 'pass the sugar, vicar'.

We have lost far too many entertainers on Hol from cards.....stuff said in the heat of a moment.

I remember discussion about timed red cards for certain posters who perhaps aren't as bad as others but that was a long time ago now.

By the way, Israel appear to have learned a great deal from us during the Mandate and "Arab Revolt" in the 30s. Collective punishment, demolishing houses etc., all proud legacies handed down by the British. Makes you glow with pride.

Why shouldn’t people prefer to support Israel. The other option is Hamas !
 
I don't get this warning thing at all. Who can explain? I did call Wisbech a cretin though, could that be why?

Strong opinions are fine - just leave off the personal insult at the end of the sentence and no-one gets a card. Simples!

Believe it or not we don't like carding people any more than they like being carded, but sometimes it's the only way to stop the playground name-calling, and a good thread deteriorating into a slanging match between 2 or 3 people that bores everyone else......

You really are due that trip to Specsavers. I never post anything anti Jew! I post criticism of the current Israeli government.

I don’t identify as Jewish at all. It’s just a simple fact that my grandmother was born into a Jewish family. Whether they observed the faith is unknown. She raised her own family as Baptists. I only know this from a member of the extended family who has built the family tree.

You said you're a quarter Jewish. When I pointed out that this is impossible you argued. But in the end you have at least backtracked to say that you have a Jewish grandparent, which is all you can claim.

My sister in law has a Jewish father as far as I'm aware, and a Jewish surname that she keeps, but her mother isn't a Jew, so she's not Jewish and neither are my niece and nephew. That's how it works.

And ironic, given that they voted for something different in Northern Ireland so the ROI stuck their noses in and started terrorising everyone.
