Israel v Hamas

A fair viewpoint as you are able to opine on matters you have greater knowledge of, which impacts you directly and which you can (at least in theory) alter via the vote.

However, if so, why post on this thread at all? Spindle and Georgenorman appear (I'm guessing) motivated by their respective faiths, but I can't figure why you care so much to take such a strong view.

Btw having met many Israelis if you encountered them they would probably hate you as a gentile and foreigner. They scoff at American Christians and others who assert western solidarity. We persecuted them for millenia. Any love is one way.

I post because I have an interest in geopolitics and like to counter mainstream media lies and the Marxists. Leftists like you might not appreciate the West but I do, especially its Judeo-Christian values.

I recently spent a fair amount of time with British Jews at the Marble Arch Synagogue and they don't share that opinion you claim of Israelis, whenever that was.

Ah yes, the classic "I met a few people, so now I speak for an entire nation" take.

The idea that all Israelis "hate gentiles" is not just laughably ignorant, it’s exactly the kind of sweeping generalisation that fuels the very prejudice he is pretending to condemn.

I very much agree with this btw.

AND he has proven my earlier point about hating Israel supersedes empathy for Palestinians.

Oh yeah? What's my faith then?

The two British Jews I've known well in life were about as unpolitical as you get.

I can't even remember them mentioning politics.

Then again it was in less polarized times.

I don't. I only have empathy for the people of the United Kingdom. My posts on this topic is in support of Western values and to argue against the evil of left-wing ideology with facts, reason and logic.
So just to be clear, you don’t care about the victims of October 7th..?

And your reasoned, logical position is that in order for you to argue against the ‘evil’ of the left, you have to unconditionally support a state which is killing and starving tens of thousands of civilians, including a huge number of children.

Good thing you know where the real evil lies. Moral compass is working perfectly.

Me too - I think empathy with people of other countries is a very normal thing.

It’s Penge who thinks it’s fake.

Very European you mean.....not commonly seen outside of Europe......For example, Indians, Indonesians and Chinese aren't commonly concerned with what's happening in Israel/Palestine nor Ukraine/Russia other than how it could benefit them or avoiding negatives.

You could even describe the attitude as a throwback to colonial attitudes....though paternalism is probably closer to it.

Your attitude tends to get us in a lot of wars.....which doesn't always work out well....well usually worsens things but makes a lot of money for bad faith actors.

I for one am very much enjoying this new crater that Penge has dug himself.

Kind of European - India just had a huge 'National Day of Solidarity with Palestine'.
