Iran

Again I will stress, if the Iranian regime starts to topple, if they have a nuke this is when they'll likely use it.

Expect Iranian sleeper cell attacks all across the West too.
Anyone at University should beware Iranian students on Media Studies or Engineering courses, carrying large rucksacks of coursework.
Of course the US is being ultra-careful in what targets it strikes. This might not be the total scorched-earth policy we saw in Gaza. As Dan said, It might bring Russia out to play, if any of their targets are hit.

And don't mention the oil. this is not about oil. It's about other 'stuff'. Definitely not oil.

So what if it is about oil. Someone explained on tv years ago that oil is VERY important. Whoever has oil can affect other countries economies (people will soon complain when prices go up on food etc) and distabilize them. And if it comes to war then those with oil have a massive advantage.

Oh, and it's being reported that ayetollah is dead, although iran deny it.

I just thought starting a war without justification was maybe a bit illegal. A bit like the war against Iraq, where W Bush and Blair were called war criminals.

I dunno, call me a liberal , or an extremist, I just thought International Law might be applicable. But obviously it only applies to bad countries like China and Russia, not to good countries like the US of A

Seems like US/Israel waited for the most optimal time to strike, known as a trigger event - enough conditions falling into place for a set time to trigger the start of the campaign.
It's likely they were tracking the supreme leader to his main home which was flattened by cruise missiles in the first salvo so Khomenei could well be brown bread, he's allegedly going to make an appearance on TV soon but it will be very telling if it gets cancelled or it's obviously pre recorded.

It's been difficult to get any real news out of Iran, we can be sure Iran is getting it's poop pushed in, we do know the Iranians have been hitting a US navy base hard in Bahrain

Looks like the Iranians have targeted the Burj al Khalifa although I cannot confirm if this is fake or not

Bombing a hotel is a terrorist act so if this is the case Iran are getting desperate & the supreme leader may well be dead like I have said before it's probably worth avoiding major cities & the subsequent public transport that comes with them for a while.

Oil ? important ?
Someone needs to tell Ed Millipede 😡

Strait of Hormuz is now closed.

Iran are lashing out at everything they can, they're also claiming they have enough missiles to do this for 2 years.

Id say Khamenei is dead.

I wonder whether this will impact on Palace's game in Larnaca, what with Cyprus being so close to the middle East, and the large RAF base there. I would assume that should the UK become involved then Akrotiri would be used extensively.

We should keep out of it and so should the US. If we (US and UK) start bombing Iran it is likely to drive public sympathy there towards the current regime. no one likes being invaded by another country even if it is to support the rebels.

Iranian exiles are making a lot of noise about the west getting involved but they do not speak for the Iranian people. We have been through all this with Iraq where the governments listened to the exiles who had their own agendas.*

Stay out of it condemn the Iranian government for brutality and hope the rebels win and install a more moderate form of government. At that point offer the hand of friendship.

*They lied about weapons of mass destruction or simply didn't know and made it up.
The West should be nowhere near it, why it is always them f***ing up the world.

The wife is out there at the moment, just texted me that she saw a fireball in the sky earlier. I guess it is only 150 miles away so seems believable. You could see the bases as legitimate Iranian targets if the US aggression continues. Time will tell whether it escalates to that level but it's not beyond the bounds of possibility. I served in Akrotiri during the attacks on Iraq in 2003, but Iran is a much more formidable foe than them isn't it. It might get moved, stranger things have happened.

As opposed to flying planes into buildings, throwing gays off buildings, stabbing kids, killing people because of a cartoon and exploding bombs all over the place to highlight a very small example of why I don’t think you have the correct spectacles on !
This is exactly why I try to avoid the political sections of football forums. Who made America the worlds policeman.
