The US/Israeli/allies defensive missiles must be running low given the increasing success Iran are having at hitting their targets .

The west was at its best when led by example, when it led with integrity, creativity, industriousness and moral courage. Words that mean nothing to you.
It has now lost its moral standing, and as a result it has lost all respect in the world.

It was partly dragged down by globalists and those who denigrate and pollute the best elements of western culture, of which we hear a lot about on this site.
But let's not forget it has also been dragged down by corrupt financiers supported by inadequate tiny-dick wavers who only know the language of "Kill, Kill, Kill". They created lasting resentment that the west will struggle to recover from.

Globalism has always existed. It has just become more efficient due to technology. Globalism in business unfortunately has a knock on effect to migration and therefore culture, crime and a whole lot of other things. Money controls virtually everything.
You seem to think that the decline in so called morals etc is a modern phenomenon, but what you are describing is the human condition which is held at bay by the law and a self imposed code of conduct that is passed down in the interests of a civilised society. There are always those who think they are above or perhaps below those rules.
This particular conflict is against people who wish to destroy our culture, values and us if they can. We might not be a perfect society, but I'll take us with all our faults over a bunch of medieval religious fruitcakes.

The time was always coming when we clashed and right now, those murdering criminals don't have nuclear capability and we have an American president who doesn't just talk the talk. Meanwhile, we have a Prime Minister who is a weak embarrassment to our historical standing and would gladly let more of those medieval fruitcakes into Britain just to keep himself in a job.

I'm not convinced anybody can completely guarantee safety in the Straits - even with quite a large presence. A massive presence perhaps. Even then, one or two ships could still be damaged or destroyed.

The politics of the Middle East might well be complex as is our occasional exploitation of it. I'm not interested in that particularly. What concerns me is destroying the roots of an idea. They say you can't destroy an idea, but you can certainly remove those who spread it.
This isn't about politics for me. This is in a broad sense a holy war. The difference being in this case that neither side can really claim much adherence to their religions. Trump wants pay back for years of Iranian hostility towards the West and specifically the US. There was never any doubt in my mind that this day was coming.
