Ipswich v CPFC Match Thread

If we had a middle 3 rather than two outnumbered players we would win this easy. Sadly Glasner won’t change it and the 3 up front won’t get the service needed. It’s been the same all season with slim pickings for our front play. Doucoure needs replacing or will get sent off. Eza is becoming Harry Kane by often going to far back. Mind you he loses it more than Kane :-(
 
Boring but stressful watch. Both teams cancelling each other out.

We have zero guile in the middle.

When Eze comes off I would go for Devenny but play him as a third cm with Sarr up with JPM. We need to win the middle ground.

I've got it in on Prime, bit cagey we've edged it, finishing the problem again, we don't seem to have a real strategy to attack, either we need more support from midfield, Lerma for Hughes? or we need to use width, Mitchell's done well when he's doubled up with Eze, Sarr is playing deep, if he can double up more with Munoz we would threaten more, but the system has pretty much nullified Ipswich - we may be waiting for them to go for the home win over reach themselves and do them on the break, we will be using Sarr's pace at some point, but Ipswich have not played high so there's no space behind for Sarr. That may change second half.

Or step Chalobah up and bring off Doucoure for Devenny. Chalobah and Hughes DMs. Putting a combination of Eze, Devenny and Sarr behind Mateta. But we won't - and fair enough if we win.
 
Alas, Eze is the most over-rated player at the club. His fault or fans expecting magic every game? From observation the cycle thus far is: recovery from injury, some non-descript performances, some good performances including a very good performance, injury.
 
A nice match to watch so far and even though we have had the team in the blue corner on the ropes several times, you have to wonder the logic of harshly removing J.Lerma from a very well organised and attacking group of Crystal players on Saturday 11-30 v N Utd FC and using his shirt to give to Chuck Doucoure who is clearly showing his inexperience at EPL level and to add further adversity he now carries an infringement card to boot. The yellow infringement in question was the result of a punishable offence of holding back the I Town FC talisman J Clarkson.
 
And as I say that it would appear Mr Lerma has called himself back into action and think we all agree now this change of employee personnel will enable us to bring the 3 points on offer tonight (1 point each for a shared bout) back to the Eagles Nest
