Internationals

Mainoo is injured.

I dont disagree that it looks a bit 'tired'.

But in the name of a discussion, apart from Wharton (who TBH was too early), who else would have been in your squad?

not my decision, but my point really was that this looks like a remarkably similar squad including out of form and underwhelming players. not sure what the back 4 will be, with no left side, no DM(maybe where JH comes in, and Rice to be played there again) or indeed where the invention comes from.

I guess it's all down to how Tuchel utilises them; there are some exciting players in there...lets hope he plays them, where Southgate did not.

Nothing any good about Palace players being called up for Internationals. Look at our start to the season, Wharton and Eze came back injured, Mateta was knackered with no summer break.
England never win anything, so whats the point, I expect the players have clauses in their contracts to get paid more, if they are called up. There is no positive to Palace at all.

I disagree. If we want to attract players like Eze and Wharton then they need to know that even if they are at Palace they have a chance of playing at international level. If not, we will end up with a squad that will never be able to compete and the likes of Roy deploying defensive tactics to avoid relegation.

Yes it is a possibility that one or two may come back injured, but then again, JPM is out after getting injured in a cup game; maybe our top players shouldn't be playing in such games as well??

A new England manager will want to start off on the right foot a few wins will need to be racked up before he takes a chance the older players will by degrees make way for a new young guard.

Tuchel only has a short contract and 15 months until the next World Cup starts. Not much time for stop gaps. If he was interested in Wharton being a core of his squad over two years he could have picked him (even as an extra squad member) so he could start getting his ideas across in briefing, see him in training, but being respectful of his injuries this season not playing him.

But must be a disappointment for Adam. I reckon it will drive him on to even better performances and am glad his return from injury isn't being put at risk.
Did Glasner not publicly beg Tuchel not to pick Wharton?

Wharton missing out is great news for us.

Hendo unlikely to play. MG hopefully has no issues.

Eze, dare I say, with Esse and Franca waiting in the wings at least has some cover.

Bigger worries for me are Munoz and Richards (and Lerma, but we have Hughes for cover) both will cover some serious miles so surely be fatigued, if not injured.
In the under 21s

Rashford doesn't deserve his place, big team bias as usual.

He has done okay at Villa yet the pundits have been going OTT he hasn't been that good, did nothing against us.

Hardly an inspiring squad selection but the manager is on a short term contract what did we expect.
You can't say that about Lord Rashford, he's a national hero because he said that one thing about school dinners or something that one time, got an MBE and then cashed in on it by releasing a load of children's books.
