It’s not, in my opinion, newsworthy here. No doubt immigration ministers in most countries are making statements on something every day.

Why pick out one? The answer can only be that he is saying something that fits the Mail’s agenda and will be well received by their readership. Not that it’s newsworthy or important.

Considering what is going on in Europe with illegal migration, undocumented migrants roaming throughout Europe and, in many cases, no one knows who they are or there background, how can this not be importsnt? IMO that is a ridiculous comment and is only made because the Mail reported it. So are you saying that no similar reports are newsworthy? You really need to take your blinkers off

Spot on. There is a need for every state to know who is living within their borders and to know where those people are. I know of many immigrant families that have produced children that in adult life are contributing to our society. There is a need for progress in two areas - existing people willing to do any job & new people to be encouraged to do more than food delivery.

It's a disgrace given the amount of MoD buildings unused on bases in the middle of nowhere. And the COVID warehouse hospitals that were set up in record time.

They were moved because of the protests. So now they incentive is to sexually abuse a child and you'll get put up in a 5 star hotel.

It's because of people like Steeley we can't put them into an old army barracks with mattresses, get the bogs fixed for hygiene and give them lazy useless bastards the job of keeping their own place in order or living in their own s***. How they are left to wander off freely ill never understand, it should be fenced off and guarded. Run a canteen with basic food and give them a football to run around with.

How hard can it be? I've been on school run adventure stays with worse facilities

Agreed. They have been living in tents so it's still an upgrade.
 
For all those who think all asylum seekers are genuine, with all my years of experience I have only seen one other Brazilian claiming asylum, on the basis he was gay. So what the basis for these 2 is, who knows! £6k a month and still getting money and accommodation from tax payers.
Waiting for the “ we should allow them to work “ brigade, what deterrent would that be? Him and his wife should be fast tracked, kept in detention and removed. Oh wait there is no doubt a HR issue.
