Agreed, except of course that the authorities don't keep reliable data. We know this from the Grooming gangs inquiry that some authorities did not collect the type of data you want when recording serious crimes. And Labour of course want to suppress issuing it as per David Lammy.
If the real data is far less than the public's perception then the authorities have only themselves to blame by playing silly buggers with it.
