The mistake they made was in taking the word of one person who claimed to have been abused over another who claimed to have been stabbed and was bleeding in evidence. That’s simply the imposition of the victim narrative that the right try to introduce at every juncture. They see themselves as victims of a progressive world.
Of course the police, and every public institution, are given diversity training! It’s what is required if we are to reduce inequality. It’s to be welcomed, not condemned.
Their initial assumptions had nothing to do with any kind of ideology. Our Police don’t have an ideology. They have duties.
They made a mistake. A very understandable mistake that most of us would likely to have made if faced with those circumstances. Only those who are so prejudiced they assume any incident involving someone from an ethnic culture different to their own must be the responsibility of the other think, otherwise.
It's unlikely that anyone who'd been stabbed five times was offering any discernable threat but he was still handcuffed.
