my reading of that........."Denmark has a relatively lefty population, ideologically. Therefore its easy to give the people what they want in Denmark. More difficult in other places.
 
Labour are just incredible.
Having voted against and shouted down the thought of using old barracks and other government buildings/land for illegal immigrants when the Tories were in power, they are now going to do it themselves.
I am 100% behind the idea but I hate politics because of it.
The situation would have been better today if this had happened two years ago and we would be the richer for it.
They will take the plaudits while conveniently forgetting that it wasn't their idea and that they voted it down while in opposition.
I just detest them all - absolute wastes of space at every level.
They also conveniently forget that when they house these guys out in the community that it will cost as much as the hotels did - rent and other benefits, so we save nothing at all overall.
Gaslighting liars who just think that truth is something to be ignored.

It has always been an option but many times it seems the costs involved in repurposing and then staffing them has meant they were regarded as unaffordable and inefficient.

Governments are always between a rock and a hard place in these circumstances. Donā€™t do it and you get slaughtered for allowing hotels full of young single men in residential areas. Do it and you get slaughtered for the excessive costs. People then ask for an instant impossible solution. Just stop the boats! So easy to say, but without any practical way to achieve it in the short term, not an actual policy.

The trouble is Wisbech, that until any government uses Trump like actions against our southern neighbour nothing will change and the illegals will keep coming. If Trump tactics were used and succeeded you would be the first to complain about the success. The public are totally fed up with the situation and you can complain that protests are just right wing agitators but the general public know different.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody, the Met Police said.

They do however quote a Muslim named resident, for some weird reason, perhaps to show "Muslim care".....

The biggest form of misinformation is not reporting the facts. Something the BBC are guilty of far too often.

Anyways I'm sure this stabbing is the fault of angry middle aged white men šŸ„±
