I can see a poor start again this season and a struggle to match last season's achievements

We always start slow and finish with a flourish when we get our act together. Question is will Glasner stand for it this time?

Assuming we are in the conference league we have two play off games in August we have to prepare for. We really should be strengthening now and not waiting for last min bargains

It’s all nonsense, I haven’t heard of any bids or players pushing for a move. It’s all media click bait. Until I see it as a done deal on Sky sports I don’t believe a word of it…

Relax enjoy the Summer….

Agreed, apart from obviously the glory of winning the fa cup, another benefit is players not wanting away because they want to win trophies, because now they’ve won something with us.
Obviously money can come into it and Guehi possibly going to Liverpool is understandable because they’ll be looking at the top prizes, but in general, the cup win must be giving us more of a chance of holding on to our best players

Given how successful last season was, I'd be quite happy if we kept more or less the same squad.
They go down in history as trophy winners...but more than that, and a wondefully tight, united squad.
If MG leaves that would be sad...but it seems we have other CB's in mind.
If Eze goes...again, very sad...he peaked last season just when we needed him to...but in the end we coped with losing Olise last year. And Sarr came to the fore instead. We've got Esse and Franca to hopefully step up.
I kind of hoped winning the Cup might have dispelled our natural gallows humour based pessimism.
Maybe the UEFA shernozzle has hampered that.
I'm giving way to a new wave of optimism, mindlessly expecting CAS to rule in our favour.
Onwards and upwards!

I wonder if the feeling of injustice around the European situation might galvanise the squad and we might come out fighting, similar to how other clubs like Everton have done. Many in the squad have also got a taste for success for the first time in their careers and the cup win may have instilled a sense of belief in what can be achieved. I'm going to be positive and say we'll make a strong start and whether we can maintain that will depend on the strength and depth of our squad come 1st September.

They seem galvanised to move on to another club.

I expect a decent start to the season, Glasner finally gets a full pre season and 2 players signed before pre season commenced. The key is how quick we replace any players leaving and if those sales happen sooner than later. So many ifs and buts. Are Franca and Esse ready to step up. Any other youth players going to get chances, kporhe, mustapha, Agbinone for e.g, it’s a big pre season ahead. We won’t know until community shield game

If we dont lose anyone ,or maybe only Guehi. We could be in for a very good season. If we had not started so poorly last season we would have been in the mix for Europa league without winning the cup. It got better as it went on, and we were flying at the end of season. If OG can keep that momentum in the first month it could be very good.

We can't play Man U every week.
We will play Tottenham, West Ham, Burnley, Sunderland, Leeds, Aston Villa, Brentford, Fulham. Get the idea? It is my optimism since 1967, although there have been ups and downs, have helped keep us on a steady upward trend leading to prolonged stay in the Premier league and winning our first major trophy. I'll keep being optimistic thanks.

Oh dear! An optimist is a pessimist without experience it will end in tears.
