How high can we finish ?

I know every team has their what ifs and if my dad was a woman he’d have been my mum and all that, but if we’d have beaten Everton and Brentford at home we’d be in 7th now and a European spot.
Obviously it all depends on if we can keep up our current form, but if we can why not 7th place?
Its just a shame we’ve got a ridiculously long time without a league game now that might spoil our momentum

I would say this season represents our best chance of Europe since we came up, if you ignore the fact that we were ten mins away from winning the FA Cup.

Could definitely win the cup or get in through the league if we carry on. I reckon we'll get 8th.
Apropos 'Europe' I recall Burnley qualifying for the Europa League after finishing 7th in the PL.
Burnley lost all but 1 of their PL games which followed a European tie and they finished 15th in the PL that season.

I doubt if any team has got to Europe (or will ever do so) with Everton and Brentford doing the double over them. It will help if Liverpool beat Newcastle in the Carabao cup but, after Southampton, we only play teams higher than us in the league. I'd say our chances of qualifying through the league are about as good as winning the Cup i.e. >10/1. We are getting results but not playing to the level of the end of last season

I'd prefer going all out for the cup forget the league now it's over now.

I mean we're only 8 points off fifth...

We still play Man City (fifth - 8 points ahead), Brighton (sixth - 7 points ahead), Newcastle (ninth - 5 points ahead) and Bournemouth (eighth - 5 points ahead).

Could look at it as a tough run in. Or could look at it as if we continue this run and beat those teams, we'll gain huge ground.

Indeed.

I tend to think that we are (give or take a place or 2) about where we'll finish.

But as you said, the harder run, gives us more of a chance to reel them in.

Either way, I just hope we give it a bloody good go!
