I agree, however, it’s easy to decline and hard to ascend in the Premier League. Being in Europe is glamorous but heavily taxing on legs. The best teams I remember played the same starting 11 all the time and that is simply impossible now in a 60 game season. We produced very sub standard performances when Sarr, Wharton, Kamada and Munoz were absent. I think we need high quality replacements in these positions to survive and then improve. Regarding the defence, if Lacroix goes, that would be a huge mistake as he is the talisman of the team. The youngsters will come good but mistakes will happen as they progress. Midfield, we absolutely must keep Wharton and Kamada. Up front, I think we are ok with what we have…even though Mateta needs 4 chances to score one goal.
