There's a surprising amount of revisionist history on this thread, and maybe people are bristling with a 'we don't need them' kind of pride.
Politics will always be divisive, but the fact is that the HF have been fundamental in giving SP its raucous atmosphere, which has been recognised across the football world. The 80's in the AW was great fun, piling to the back of the stand before a penalty, chucking celery (!) about and all that nonsense. When SP became all-seater and a lot of us moved to the Holmesdale, the seats seemed to literally suck the passion out of the fans. I remember in about 1998 getting so frustrated in a game against Spurs that we were so silent and so passive that I stood up and yelled at people to get involved. Everyone looked at me like I was a lunatic.
Yes, we can all sing without the HF. But the fact was we didn't. It was like a morgue, or like every other PL stadium.
Hopefully this is just another stunt, or a tactical response to that criminal in charge at Forest, but if these guys stop the noise and the displays forever, it will be a huge loss.
We have never been the best team in the Prem, but we have always had the best support. If that goes, we're bang in trouble. It will be like losing half the squad.
