Yep, I feel Reform will lure her away from her (assumed) Conservative roots. However, with Starmer having said in the Commons how he is glad the judiciary is independent and that her sentence was right, it looks a bit ‘flip flop’ if his department has put pressure on to get her early release. There’s a book deal for Lucy, I’m sure…
She has certainly come out and started metaphorically swinging the sockful of pennies. What I think is shocking a lot of people is the fact that the tweet she sent, and then deleted within a short space of time, was pretty raw.
And yet the support for her seems to be growing and growing. The utterly disproportionate level of sentencing, allied with the Ricky Jone acquittal, is merely fueling a fire that does now seem to be taking on a life of its own and which has the potential to become a conflagration.

Starmer is responsible for a lot of the public's attitude now.
The way he responded to the riots after the murder of those three girls was very bad.
People don't trust nor have time the establishment now. The Lucy Connelly/Ricky Jones situation is stark.....She is giving interviews on how she was treated and it's plainly outrageous and ridiculous in equal measure.
I hear that Connelly meets with Trump's officials today. How she was treated may mean this isn't over yet.
It may have had the Owen Jones types clapping but those types are very much a minority in the country.
The people who have been promoted to manage our institutions have positions and opinions that are not supported by the majority of people.

And a possible bewilderment as to how these fellas got so high up the greasy career-pole ? the Media, Education, Health, Transport.....just about everywhere now.

Shortly after the vote I was talking to a group of 24/25 year old girls (Goddaughter's mates or they wouldn't have given me the time of day) who were all bemoaning Brexit but not one of them had voted. Don't know if they were unusual or if 25 year olds don't usually vote anyway.

Freedom of movement. I’ve heard parents moan about their children having that taken away from them, when they had no plans to move abroad and no second language. What they also don’t appreciate is there would be a larger flow of young Europeans here because of high unemployment in Southern European countries especially.

Exactly. The EU has a major problem with youth unemployment in some countries so they want to dump it on us.
As for our young people going abroad, it's always been a small number of them to study or get jobs. A friend's daughter has just spent a year studying in Amsterdam she didn't have any problems with the paperwork.
The days of young people hopping over to Spain for a holiday and whilst there deciding to hang on and and get bar work are long over. It only happens if you know the owner or get lucky, they are trying to look after their own young people.
I spoke to a Remainer yesterday and even they admitted that the new EU travel rules just coming in are no big deal as most countries around the world do similar things now.
