Has anyone ever won anything ?

i won a Doc. Martins T shirt once.

(i actually cheated, you was meant to post back a winning bottle cap , so i got my losing cap top, made sure i made a cap impression in the envelope, wet the corner, tore it off and posted an empty envelope)

got my highly prized t shirt a few weeks later, which i had covered in paint a few days later.

I think ive won a TV decades ago but gave it away?
f*** knows...

I scored the winning goal in a West London Schools under 11's Cup competition back in 1972.
The best thing about it was the fact the maths teacher who was the football coach pulled me out of an english lesson to play and I was under 10's at the time.
Billy Big bollocks or what after that lads!

I also won a 5 mile running race where the rightful winner got lost. I really should have finished second, but I got a big trophy, rosette and a voucher for a running shop because the other guy wasn't paying attention to the signs on the course.

It might not count as I didn't win it, but I benefited from it. And it's palace-related, so...

In the 90s cable TV came to Croydon. Some might remember them digging up the pavements to lay the actual cables. Anyway, Palace started an in-house channel. It was incredibly ropey, all filmed on a camcorder or something. They used to give away prizes to try and build an audience for this new venture (remember, this is all pre internet, never mind club social media channels and so on).

Thing is, to begin with only a very small number of people paid for cable TV. Only a small proportion of them were palace supporters, and of those only a handful even knew when this wobbly bag of s***, amateur hour TV show was on, never mind were prepared to sit through it.

My mate, however, ticked all three boxes. For a short window of time there were about ten people phoning in to try and win about ten prizes every week. My mate won a replica top one week, a calendar the next, some other s*** after that.

One week he hit the jackpot, two tickets for the new executive boxes at the Whitehorse end.

And so it was that on Boxing day 1994 (I think) two spotty teenage oiks turned up and had an executive box to ourselves!

There was a fridge full of beer but we were too nervous to get stuck in, just in case it wasn't complementary!

I won a Ferguson record player in 1980.
The very first spot the difference competition I entered in Match Weekly.
My 8 year old self was delirious.

I later won a Trevor Francis plastic football in the same publication.
It arrived inflated in a cardboard box…more a cube than a sphere.

I won a pair of tickets for palace/cardiff when it was Barclays premier league. Every cash point slip had a code on the back you went on line with to check. So I drew out £100 in fivers and got a winning code. 👍

I won £750 on the Palace Lifeline. Who remembers that and what happened to it? Also won a weekend pass and hotel for a weekend festival in New Glasgow (headliners were Sam Roberts Band and Stephen Page from the Bare Naked Ladies) and a Toronto Maple Leafs directors chair - neither of which would be of interest to anyoutside one Nova Scotia! My sporting high was South East Regional DHSS Ten Pin Bowling champion in 1979. Wahooooo.

Back in the days of Twitter there was a tweet from Match of the Day magazine (who I didn't actually follow) that said if you retweet you could win two tickets for Palace vs Bournemouth. So I did, and gave them a follow just in case. Only about a day later I was informed I had won them. Palace drew 2-2 I think, but as I retrospect I recall that I was sat with a lot of kids and people in wheelchairs and I wondered if the competition was intended for children. Ah well, nice day out.

I try not to bet on Palace. A Spurs mate saw a deal in the bookies. Palace to beat Birmingham 1-0 Andy Johnson to score the first goal.

He urged me to lump on as odds were 100-1. He also pointed out that if Anyone was going to score for palace it would be Johnson.

To shut him up a put £1 on rather than my usual £5.

I was sweating the last 10 minutes and regretting not having my usual bet. To this day that is the best odds I have ever won on but not the most money.

I think the best thing I’ve ever won in a random competition was Oasis tickets. Now I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but for a fan it was massive, especially considering the crazy prices now. This was the penultimate gig(Bon Jovi was the last) at the old Wembley and it was mindblowing
The happy Mondays were the support and they were brilliant too

About 25 years ago I won a trip to Amsterdam in a Stella competition in the Barley Mow pub by Smithfield. Turned out there were only two people in the draw which the other bloke involved was asked to do and he pulled my name out. He was so pig sick he stopped going to the pub.
Had to go in February and it snowed so I needed better footwear and found a pair of Timberlands which had been wrongly priced in a sale but the shop honoured anyway so they were £25.
Also won a bottle of champagne playing bingo at the Groucho club around the same time.

Didn’t we sign Brighty with lifeline money?

I was there. The gig that was recorded for the 'familiar to millions' live CD?

I was a founding member of Lifeline.

I did win on it once but don't remember how much.

It morphed into something else I think....anyway, before it was disbanded I won again, £1200 worth of travel vouchers. Presented to me on the pitch by Gregg Berhalter.
