Has Anyone Actually Bought Anything from TEMU?

No doubt Temu is cheap. Is it good quality can't comment.

But maybe before you buy from them do a little online research to satisfy yourself of their ethical practices. If you are ok with what you find then. Good luck

Ironically there is a Temu advert on this page as I type.

You should perhaps turn off the "legitimate interest" cookies.

Does my memory serve me correctly that some fella came on this very forum once whinging about the number of adverts for s*x toys on here before someone pointed out that the ads were based on his browsing history?

He wasn't even larking about, he was complaining that this website was a hive of debauchery.

Funny how this thread I started about cheapskate TEMU has evolved into a discussion about folk's unfortunate experiences whilst indulging in sexual activities. Come on.

I bought a laptop stand. It was maybe 8 euro, maybe 10. After a while a stool came. I went crazy to customer service who refunded me.
I'd forgotten all about it when a laptop stand arrived. Presented quite nicely. Basically plastic but with a cloth case. It hasn't broken although I barely ever use it. Never really.
The stool was a free gift which I didn't know about.
It's a bit crazy just sending a stool. I'm not sure they care about money. I reckon they just have a million tonnes of s*** to get rid of.
I think I bought shoes and a hoody then. Both of which were extremely low quality but were more or less free. Like 11 euro for both. But they weren't even worth that. The hoody is intact but so thin it's nearly see through. The shoes just got wet and broke.

I get excited when I get post as well.

I’ve had phone chargers, a set of earbuds, a summer jacket, a nail-care kit, among other bits from em and it’s all fared well for me.

Since then I’ve seen videos about them that basically no health and safety is followed at all and that some of the clothes contain lead 👀 and other nasties. Who knows if it’s true. I haven’t bought from them for a while though.

You can definitely get some real bargains on there, that is for certain. Not everything is a huge bargain, contrary to popular thought… you have to be selective.

Don’t bother getting sucked into the games trying to earn prizes, it’s next to impossible, you might get 20% off certain items if you spend a lot of time but you won’t get the big prizes it shows you.

If it’s something that you don’t have to worry too much about quality or safety, go ahead. Beyond that, probably be a bit cautious, but if you use your judgement it’ll be fine some of the time.

A further update to my previous post…

I now buy loads of T-shirts and other clothes off Temu. My teenage son loves his band T-shirts and there’s quite a few on there for me too. £3 or £4 a pop and all have been decent quality. Parcels are delivered by Evri, so they’re trackable.

Still have to ignore all the promo emails but I’m used to that now and as Linford says, don’t bother with the games, credit back offers and lucky spins. They’re all just a swizz and minefield of confusion.

I get stuff from Temu. It is generally hit or miss, generally 'hit' Good for golfers (some of their hybrid clubs have been highly rated) Customer service is very good. If you don't like something they will refund without the hassle of returning it.

The downside is that if everybody took advantage of their low prices the whole UK retail economy would collapse and be a prelude to a Chinese take over of the Western world.

Not sure the downside is much of a downside ! At least we’d have a government that doesn’t bend in the wind ! 🤪

All the Temu ads I see on my phone are for bum toys and I think it'd be unwise to take a budget approach to such items.
I purchased a bathroom cabinet from Temu. It took about 10 days arrive and does the job. It discretely houses all my toys as opposed to visitors having a good gaup at them (or wanting to try them out) when they see them lying around my flat. You can easily turn off Temu's marketing.
If in doubt use a credit card for purchases and if s*** does hit the fan youre covered, according to a friend some of those toys can go a bit rogue:drunk:. Alternatively dont use that toy again!

The words of a wise and experienced expert. Hard to ignore.

A lot of wisdom on here that I wasn't expecting. I think most of the items are generally safe but I am always suspicious of anything that requires more than 8 batteries. Perhaps I'm over sensitive but I don't need anything that registers more than 2 on the Richter Scale.
