Richards captains the USA national team so has experience in that role, and Lacroix is also a good leader, sometimes giving the team talks instead of Guehi.

Richard's has only captained the US mens team twice since he started playing for them in 2020. Tim Ream is the current captain.

Just hadn't thought of it but Henderson - he seems Captain material maybe? Don't know why I said it. Maybe vice Captain at least. He just seems so committed but I don't think it would affect him like it would Hughes for instance. I wouldn't want the edge taken off of Hughes' game with the responsibility. Maybe Henderson Captain, Lacroix or Richards or Hughes vice Captain.

Never liked the idea of a goalkeeper as captain.

Agreed. IMO, the captain needs to be in the thick of the action so a central defender or midfielder tends to be the better options

Absolutely right. The keeper should be in constant communication with his defence anyway. The captain HAS to be in a position to see the play unfolding in front of them i.e. central defence or holding midfielder.
