Gorton & Denton By-election

I am sorry if I have misunderstood facts over the last few days but was the election not won by a white woman who is representing a party led by a gay Jew?

This Islamic family voting schtick is Reform complaining about losing - a tactic direct from the Trump playbook. Whining, poor losing, zero statesmanship and exactly what you lot allege Remoaners (clue in name) of doing.
Perhaps the translated version didn’t mention all the facts that would ‘upset’ one section of the community (why a UK election needs pamphlets to be translated seems strange). Whilst general elections will have pamphlets concentrating on local issues which therefore differ from one region to another, a single by-election should have exactly the same things mentioned, in whatever language, otherwise it seems a bit fraudulent.

And do you think those two factors encouraged Muslims to vote for them? Or were they merely incidental to the wider Pro-Palestinian sentiments and the pledge for open borders?
Opposing Israeli use of excess force and supporting the Two State solution are hardly policies anyone with a moral compass would oppose.

Supporting a policy of removing Israel is repugnant. However the Greens do not support that.

If I am wrong please show me where in eg their manifesto.

It is though being investigated. Won’t some look a bit silly if this proven to be vote rigging !

Where did I mention anything about removing Israel? (even if there are bloody good arguments as to why it has no legitmacy but lets leave that to one side for now - It exists, and it is what it is).

The implication of your post was that Muslims are clearly reasonable people because they voted for a blonde and a Jewish homosexual. As opposed to a very clear policy of block voting by way of expressing support for the wider 'Ummah' in Palastine and wanting to express that disapproval to the Labour party, who they perceive as supporting Israel (and with reasonable justification on that). With the Greens deemed the best way of achieving that aim. And for the Muslim vote, what mattered above all else was that. And was that not a factor, would not be going within a million miles of the Green party.

I credit you with enough intelligence to understand that this utter contradiction between many of the basic tenants of Islam and the supposedly deeply held views of those who think of themselves on the Left are numerous and glaring, meaning what happend last week was, at the very best, nothing more than a temporary alliance and that if that Muslim bloc vote ever truly get their say, then both the woman and the Jewish homosexual are in a world of grief, probably far in excess of what I might face because we would share a fair old amount of socially conservative views on how society should be conducted.

Only question is if you have the integrity to acknowledge that?

British Muslims, especially the younger generations, are for more liberal than you think.

I see. So having women and gay Jews leading political parties is likely to attract Muslims? Thats why they voted Green?

Nope. Just saying that it doesn’t bother a lot of British Muslims, especially born and bred ones. It’s the older generation that are far stricter.

So they voted Green because they support trans rights? And believe all fracking should be stopped? Etc.etc? And if so, why did they not vote Green before in the same constituency? There was an election less than 2 years ago. Why all of a sudden do they switch allegience?

Probably the same reason why other Labour voters in the last election switched allegiance.

Let him live his fantasy.

How many Muslims do you know and grew up and worked alongside?

Trying to lump all Muslims into one homogenous group that are going to takeover this country is extremely lazy and completely ignorant (your speciality, so no surprises there).

Quite a few....not grew up with but I know some and worked with them as well.

You are living a fantasy lad.

You literally just saw an ethnic vote and you are literally trying to fool yourself that it's incidental, rather than being what it is.

Until they are murdered by their male relatives, and how do you know what young British muslims think? Some vague claim of growing up with and working alongside means nothing, it is an opinion not any kind of fact.

Regardless of party or politics I think todays events should make people think (that would be a novelty) about the individuals they are voting for rather than the Rosette .

I mean would you rather have representing you in government at a time of geopolitical crisis , a professor of politics who lectures on international affairs or a Plumber ?

Of course all Muslims are not the same, Indonesians are quite different for example. The problem is the Muslim population in the UK is mostly from the Pakistan, Afghanistans, Bangladeshi demographic who are the ones with the anti West attitudes. We have the lowest level in the UK. We have sleep walked into this and beyond the point where we can reverse the decline.

We have open the Pandora's box of multiculturalism and not surprisingly we are now reapiong what we have sown.

A massive Trojan horse population which is outbreeding other groups and hates the UK as it is.

With heating like at the Palace of Westminster?

It would be fair to say that if any voting was illegal then it should be investigated and if not then the result was fair.
The Greens however, have proved that they care nothing for their core principles, by openly going after votes from groups whose extreme values they would normally despise.
Who would have thought that the fluffy Greens would want votes from people whose leaders would see gay people killed - to use but one example.
Principles and politics truly proven to be poles apart and it makes the future of voting very scary indeed.
The Green Party may come to regret this last week.

The Green Party are certainly strange lot to understand politically .
Are they now hoping to be the party of choice for Muslims rather than for the eco warriors that inspired them originally for instance ? .
