Gorton & Denton By-election

Just a little dabble into the red pilled world of HOL politics forum.

Keep believing lads. Annoyingly the real world catches up when it comes to actual votes and not what people see online.

Dude, you're talking about a seat with a 40 percent Muslim population.....You can't reproduce that in many places.

And the Greens only beat Reform by 4000 votes. She literally thanked that community in her acceptance speech.

I think when it comes to someone living in la la land about what this means, you need to look in the mirror darling.

This tells us all we need to know about the greens if it's true.

It was meant to be close. It wasn’t. And ‘only’? A huge percentage. And those that didn’t vote Green voted Labour.

There is no appetite for your politics anywhere near any city.

Keep dreaming son.

The right wing meltdown as funny as expected on here. Keep wet dreaming of your authoritarian right wing utopia, lads. It’s never happening.
as opposed to our current authoritarian left wing utopia ?

Actually Dan , its quite the contrary. I welcome our forthcoming hard Left government to Ireland - after 2028. They will be even nuttier than Keir. And it will be hilarious.

With respect I do not recognise your 'Caricature' of the current Conservative Party.

In any event this discussion pertains to the 'Gorton and Denton' by-election where Labour suffered a drubbing and some of the wind was taken out of Farage's sails by the result.

Nothing more to contribute on this debate.I shall now concentrate my efforts on the Football discussions.
The Tories lost their deposit in fact they polled less than one fifth of the votes required to keep their deposit and you say lesson learnt , today you are the opposition but not after the next G.E.

regarding the White British Working-class vote, the Tories are now finished. And that is a good thing. Cos its been one gaff after another from them, for years. The failure to deal with the Rape Gangs was surely the final nail in the coffin.

You say that but is there not a real danger for Reform and the other right wing parties that by taking in the more opportunistic Tories that they risk serious damage from the.fact that they welcome these people in?

The Tories are in a very difficult place and this has possibly meant Reform has not had the chance to grow as it needs to to get the right people in the right jobs (I also think Nigel is a little resistant to anyone who might challenge his alpha male position.)

They need better candidates to deliver their narrative and this could hold them back.

That is certainly one drawback, experience and the machinery for an election cannot be overstated.

I think it may be that they need people with experience in government and providing Reform don’t take in everyone that may not be a bad ploy. They want to counter the criticism in local councils that they have no experience after winning quite a large number last time out. May could be interesting.

Indeed. But lets not derail this thread. Let's return to the tangibles of the outcome of what happened in this by-election. With the wider implications of what it means for the British body politik and its impact on how our future pans out.

But first, and apologies if it has been asked before, but in terms of the lady who won it for the Greens....would you? Obviously, being a leftie, in definite need of a bit of sprucing up, and you would have to try and encourage her not to speak too much because that accent can be a tad grating (although I do wonder how much it is all an act?) but as far as political totty goes, worse out there. With a bit of effort, and a nice frock, then perhaps an entertaining diversion for a night out.
No thanks

Would that be the message they delivered in Urdu? The one written by Haitham al-Haddad?
Yes, this Haitham al-Haddad...
In 2001, Haitham al-Haddad allegedly said "I will tell you the truth about the fight between us and Jews who are the enemies of God and the descendants of apes and pigs"

In an article called ‘Standing up against Homosexuality’, Haddad wrote of “the scourge of homosexuality”, which he calls a “criminal act”.[17] On women, he declared that “a man should not be questioned why he hit his wife, because this is something between them”.[18] In addition to this he has also claimed that “the most honourable and worthy role for a woman is striving to be a fine wife...this role does not only secure the best for a woman in the hereafter, but also fits perfectly with her natural disposition”[19] He has claimed that there is a "proper" way of performing FGM,[9] further saying "it is consensus of all the scholars that female circumcision is sunnah [proper]".[20].

I wonder why the 'Greens' won 🤔
I am sorry if I have misunderstood facts over the last few days but was the election not won by a white woman who is representing a party led by a gay Jew?

This Islamic family voting schtick is Reform complaining about losing - a tactic direct from the Trump playbook. Whining, poor losing, zero statesmanship and exactly what you lot allege Remoaners (clue in name) of doing.

There really is no substitute for experience, Please tell me why the decidedly left wing anti- Nazi league was so named did they come before the Nazis or after ,clues are available.
I was merely mentioning that if one ‘extreme’ emerges a counter extreme will likely emerge.
So, why does Reform exist, what is the catalyst that causes it to exist? It is an avenue for people concerned about uncontrolled immigration and the consequences thereof. They would consider the current government ‘extreme’’ in the opposite direction. They don’t seem to be controlling immigration-and neither did the previous administration-hence Reform exist.
Bizarrely, it probably exists more now to counteract The Greens, as Labour seem impotent.

And do you think those two factors encouraged Muslims to vote for them? Or were they merely incidental to the wider Pro-Palestinian sentiments and the pledge for open borders?
