1. Why would Wharton (who has advisors and a very good agent guiding his career) want to go to Forest. A club that cant even match what we can offer?Would be amazed if they did not come for Wharton to replace him.
I also saw that. Kind of puts the rotund one in his place doesn't it!Real Madrid £120 million apparently

I would not be surprised one jot.1. Why would Wharton (who has advisors and a very good agent guiding his career) want to go to Forest. A club that cant even match what we can offer?
2. Why would Forest sell Anderson for £116m only to have to spend the same amount (or more) to buy Wharton? Trust me thats what it will cost.
3. Despite Parish being a good businessman that will not let his emotions rule his decisions I cannot see any way we would sell to Forest unless we needed the money and they were the only offer on the table.
I'll add a side note to 3 in that they will probably come knocking for JP. While I'd be ok with letting him go I'd make sure Forest paid every penny that we want for him.

He was great for us, but we were great for him as well, we found out his true character when the going got tough, he was making sure every man, woman and their dog knew our poor form at the time wasn’t his fault (in his opinion)with his outburst. He obviously wanted to go to a club that throws money around like confetti and could pay him a lot more.I might be 'Way off beam' but I suspect many of our supporters are rankled and irked that he has joined Nottm Forest and hope that his tenure is unsuccessful.
I view Glasner as a manager who provided the club with unparalleled success, fulfilled his contract and was then free to negotiate with any club who were interested in his services.

Nottm Forest acted in their interests and had we been in their position it is feasible we would have gallivanted down that path. All these Forest idiots on social media claiming Palace are furious blah blah are way wide of the mark. I admit to disliking Marinakis for squealing to UEFA to get us chucked out of the Europa League and take the place we earned (I maintain to this day if Forest had stayed out of it we'd have got EL football last year.)
As far as I'm concerned Glasner had already left and we knew he was going as early as February. Many of us wanted him gone when he announced he was leaving. I'm not overly bothered where he goes but I'd be quietly satisfied to see him fail at Forest. Largely because Glasner knew the trouble Forest stirred up for us and went there anyway. I know there is no loyalty in football and money talks but surely after all the talk of Man United or Chelsea earlier in the year and Milan more recently this move to Forest looks a bit desperate?

At his age I doubt it.I would not be surprised one jot.
Chris Wood another 'Target man' is now 34 and missed most of last season with an injury.
Whether Mateta would want to join a club not competing in Europe is a matter for debate.
It might be in their interests, but it's also quite underhanded. Plenty of clubs would do it no doubt, but not all.Nottm Forest acted in their interests and had we been in their position it is feasible we would have gallivanted down that path.
UEFA demoted us for reasons that have been well documented and the decision was upheld by CAS.
I doubt we would have emerged victorious in the Europa League, accordingly playing in the Conference League has provided us with 2 seasons in Europe !
I can’t read the article, it’s behind a paywall.An interesting read:

An objective view but while you're entitled to your opinion I disagree. If Forest could reach the Semi final and Villa can reach the final and win it I would not have been so quick to write off our chances in that competition. The team that won it have consistently been beaten by us so I would turn your theory on its head and suggest that if Marinakis had kept his fat nose out of it UEFA may have allowed us to compete (because no one apart from Forest were complaining and everyone knew we are not part of a MCO) we may be looking at a £40m group stage payment for instant entry to the Champions League.Nottm Forest acted in their interests and had we been in their position it is feasible we would have gallivanted down that path.

Wish I'd read this before replying myself. I've more or less said the same thingIt might be in their interests, but it's also quite underhanded. Plenty of clubs would do it no doubt, but not all.
I have no idea if we would have, if the shoe was on the other foot. Parish seems to be a character with a fixed set of morals, some of which pertain to the governance of the game.
It is not a given that we would have crashed out of Europa. The final as had just been played was Spurs vs United, two teams who at that time were playing well below our level and had flirted with the drop.
The teams we were due to face in Europa that year were not hugely above us in quality. Many of them we would have preferred to play against stylistically, rather than those we did play in the Conference.
We will never know, and what's done is done. We managed to win the competition we were demoted into; and have as a result regained our rightful spot a year further on. We should give it a good old crack.

Your probably correct there... unless Anderson wanted out and they can't stop him; but Wharton wanted in at the right price.1. Why would Wharton (who has advisors and a very good agent guiding his career) want to go to Forest. A club that cant even match what we can offer?

Agree,The story I heard is that Glasner had been of interest to Forest for some time and they were in contact with him a few months ago to establish his intentions.
This is no great surprise as Glasner had already announced he was leaving Palace, and Forest have had their own managerial turmoil over the season.
It looks like he kept his options open and reportedly had discussions with Milan which don't seem to have gone anywhere.
Forest may be the only club that pushed hard for him and he's bitten.
Forest have a good history including Champions League wins, but it's difficult to escape the view that it's a sideways move.
Put it this way, when it was announced he was leaving the potential clubs mentioned for his next stop were Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea - not Forest.
