Glasner to Forest

Currently, right now, in this moment? Yes of course we are.

Ancient history doesn't matter one jot, it doesn't come into it when we are talking about the modern game, and players and managers in the here and now.

I listed seven clear black and white facts that show how Forest are a smaller club in this day and age.

Talking down the FA Cup and a European trophy as competitions for their merits is hilarious. To do that in order to big up a club who went trophyless over the same period is farcical.

Glasner hasn't gone to work for Stuart Dryden, he's gone to work for Evangelos Marinakis.

I'll give you a black and white fact. Forest have only been in the Premier League for 5 seasons and were found guilty of financial irrgulations in overspending to gain promotion. So in other words you cheated and still only just scrapped through the play-offs.

He's a snake. It's a sh*tty move. But we have a new manager, new players coming soon, a Europa League tour.

Time to move on and enjoy the summer. Focus on that lot on the 10th October.
I suspect that our supporters will view developments at Nottm Forest over the summer with interest and might afford Glasner a less than cordial greeting on 10th October.

The odds on Glasner being there for three years must be quite impressive. The last manager they had who lasted that long was Frank Clarke who started in 1993. Since him they've had nearly 40 changes.
Peaked my curiosity, so I had a snoop.
Since Maranakis took over they've had eleven managers in 9 years and only Steve Cooper lasted more than a year.

If he backs Oli then I can't see any reason why they wouldn't last but I suppose time will tell.

This is the reason it wont work imo...1 win in 15 games, out of the FA Cup vs Macclesfield, constant underhand digs at the board, genuinely cant see him getting a full season under his belt. On the brightside, we've got Sage who i cant wait to get behind. Thanks Ollie, will always have the memories , but hopefully the real success starts now!

Like hell they are.

* Thirteen consecutive years in the Premier League vs five.

* Europa League football vs nada.

* Clearly definable upward trajectory vs chaotic trajectory.

* Famously passionate, vocal fanbase vs sh*te fanbase.

* Clean FFP record and headroom vs FFP charges and no headroom.

* Squad that is used to winning things in recent times vs squad that has achieved fxck all.

* Top three club for players featuring at the World Cup vs.... do they even have 1?

Need I carry on?

This is clearly flawed.
Whether you like it or not Forest are a bigger club than Palace.
Based on your last 2 points we are bigger than Man Utd, and we are clearly not.

Having a passionate fanbase is irrelevant to a club's size. Selhurst has a 25k capacity, Forest is almost 31k, and sells out every game. Not only that with our limited hospitality our revenue on match days is limited. Forest's match day revenue will far exceed ours (just like new grounds such as Spurs and Arsenal get more matchday revenue than Man U despite having smaller capacities).

However, i think it is fair to say Forest isn't a massive jump up on Palace, making Glasner's decision a little strange. However, i suspect no big 6 club will touch him and Forest has made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

I am very grateful to OG for the trophies, but last season our league performances were almost unwatchable at times and winning the ECL papered over some of the cracks. If he'd joined Forest last summer, then I think people may be more upset. As it is, I think it was a good time for a change for both parties.

It's hard to tell how he'll get on at Forest, as such a major factor will be his ability to work with a larger squad that lacks the closeness of ours, and a chairman who is so volatile. Personally, I think he may well fall out with players due to his unwillingness to rotate, but on the flipside, even with Anderson gone, they do have a strong squad. Plus, they don't have Europe to think about (unlike half of the PL!) Hopefully it all goes tits up, but we'll see.

The Forest announcement doesnt mention our club but does reference the success.

Just total unnecessary sh!thousery from Forest. Very unusual club, assume the fans are all decent but the owner and those employed by him are clearly a little insecure.

If it lasts a year i will be surprised.

Let’s see how much money he gets to spend

Anyways when Forest come to Selhurst & get beat the song to be sung is

“Ollie Glasner is a South Londoner , he’s not a grass he’s a south Londoner “

will he still be in charge?

If they get off to a slow start October will seem a long way off.
