Glasner to Forest

Mr Hodgson's primary remit during both of his managerial spells at our club was to secure PL stability and avoid relegation.
That's kind of my point in my reply. Most of those named are the same players Roy had. But the bar was lower. Roy didn't get them to the same kind of heights.

The suggestion above that it was just the players and not Oli, is then, easily disproven.

Glasner’s obsession with winning did feel strangely refreshing. The way he wanted to win every game. No matter the competition or opposition was brilliant. Clearly played a part in helping the players believe and thus getting over the line in a final.

I hope Sage has the same mentality because winning is actually quite good!!!
I concur, I wonder what target he was set though. Was he asked to just do a mid-table job but over achieved with some accompanying trophies?

Like hell they are.

* Thirteen consecutive years in the Premier League vs five.

* Europa League football vs nada.

* Clearly definable upward trajectory vs chaotic trajectory.

* Famously passionate, vocal fanbase vs sh*te fanbase.

* Clean FFP record and headroom vs FFP charges and no headroom.

* Squad that is used to winning things in recent times vs squad that has achieved fxck all.

* Top three club for players featuring at the World Cup vs.... do they even have 1?

Need I carry on?

You are so delusional.

You really think Palace are a bigger club compared to Forest.

Forest has won top flight league multi times and European cup as well as all the domestic cups multi times (It doesn't matter if that was 10-20-30 years ago)

Palace has won an FA Cup yes that is an achievement rep for it was bigger back in days Forest won it and we won a Micky Mouse Europe competition they had won multi times what would be today Champions league.

Forest are one of the founding members not like Palace trying to make up history claiming.

With your list you have shown you do not understand what a big club is.

Currently, right now, in this moment? Yes of course we are.

Ancient history doesn't matter one jot, it doesn't come into it when we are talking about the modern game, and players and managers in the here and now.

I listed seven clear black and white facts that show how Forest are a smaller club in this day and age.

Talking down the FA Cup and a European trophy as competitions for their merits is hilarious. To do that in order to big up a club who went trophyless over the same period is farcical.

Glasner hasn't gone to work for Stuart Dryden, he's gone to work for Evangelos Marinakis.

Good luck Oliver at Forest.

The second greatest Crystal Palace manager after Coppell.
This is my feelings too!

OG deserves significant credit for delivering the trophies that every other manager in our history has not been able to do. He had help from the 12 players who played in this WC which shows the quality of players at his disposal.

Sir Stevie had a bunch of lower and non league misfits at his disposal.

He gave me a decade of fun and pride being a Palace supporter with memories of 2 cup finals, beating the scousers at Villa Park, 0-6 away at Birmingham, ZDS and so many more.

Never did he throw anyone under the bus and BTW I think he was 27-28 years old when he took on the challenge.

Thank you Ollie but there is more to life than the trophies to be my greatest ever!

Who is bigger?;

PSG or Girondins de Bordeaux?

Bayer Leverkusen or Berliner FC Dynamo?

Inter Miami or New York Cosmos?

Bournemouth or Leeds?

RB Leipzig or Hamburg?

Strasbourg or St Ettiene?

Dortmund or Schalke?

Como or Parma?

Wrexham or Portsmouth?

Sheffield United or Sheffield FC?

Chelsea or Oxford University FC?

I suppose Glasner should have by your account been advised to sign for Corinthian-Casuals instead?

Dawn French or Jennifer Saunders?

Now wouldn’t it be hilarious if fat Greek let his manger go to allow OG and as a final parting gift as he was about to sign he said… are you hanving a laugh you fat mug. I’m not coming here out of respect for taking our slot and then trotted off into the sunset… legacy saved.

Speaking of Slot...they might have a viable alternative.

Ancient history doesn't matter of course it does and again showing you have 0 clue what you are talking about.

I didn't talk down at anything I told it how it is Forest has won that cup multi times we won it once and the rep of that cup used to be far higher compared to what it is now & the Conf League is a Micky Mouse cup it's not no European (Champions league which again Forest won multi times)

You really are a joyless fun sponge of a character, have you actually enjoyed being a palace this past year? I’m assuming you didn’t and you didn’t bother attend the fa cup final and any of the European games as you hold them in such low esteem

When you become the manager of a club you don't get the credit for their past glories, nor will you get to bask in much of their future given the precarious nature of football management. You get a little pocket of time with the club usually ranging between 3 and 24 months.

In the current pocket of time, Palace are in a European tournament off the back of some trophy wins. Forest are not.

Forest do indeed have a bigger history. They may well be more ambitious (if you'd like to argue that). Oliver Glasner is unlikely to be part of either of those things. In this pocket in time it really is a sideways move (or worse) which he took because the jobs he thought he'd be offered were whipped from under his feet. I doubt very much he feels that Forest are some incredible opportunity of his dreams.

I'd say he pulled the rug from under his own feet because of his attacks on 3 successive employers

Hopefully he will be able to change his inate behaviour and be a success at other clubs. But not Forest.

I'm not going to argue with that, end result the same. He got a club that I don't think really represents his aspirations, even if it's a club with a decent legacy.

spot on... it was plan b and he can spin it anyway he likes, but he will look at palace playing in europa and he will be with forest doing what exactly?
Side ways move and probably a result of his tantrums new year..

.....pulled the rug right into what appears to be a contract that will set him up for life.

No one on here knows what his aspirations were or are.

Why are people so obsessed with this, thank him and move on
