Glasner Out

I get the financial element of not sacking him, but doesn’t reflect well on Parish. Looks weak af. Get him gone

If we get pumped next week I reckon it will pile on anyway
His contract no doubt has a sacking clause, this could be a set fee e.g. £5m so yes it would be crazy to sack him now. However there is nothing to stop us putting him on gardening leave for the next 4 months which we are going to pay hm anyway.

12th and now 15th, a lucky cup win. brilliant.
Austrian Championship title with LASK, Europa League title with Frankfurt, FA Cup title with Palace, Community Shield title with Palace, high of 4th this season with Palace, and still in the Conference League.

there is no honeymoon period in football. We have gone from heroes to zeros.

glasner has lost the plot.

With our best players missing for most of the “zeros” period.

It’s more of a surprise that he kept the good form of last season going for so long into this season. It shouldn’t have been an expectation in the first place.

He’s done a fantastic job, the fact people are moaning in the current situation only shows how far the goalposts have moved under his leadership.

West Ham have to go on an amazing run AND both Forest and Leeds also go on well runs at the same time, for us to be in any danger.

We are still in the Conference League and could well yet take home our third Glasner trophy.

We are just as close to the European spots as we are to the drop, everything is tight this season.

What is most likely is we will finish somewhere between the two. Twelfth again? Who gives a fxck? We won the FA Cup!

It's all very well just saying '' sack him '', '' should have gone in October '' but he needs to be replaced.

Not easy mid-season. And you could wind up hiring someone out of desperation rather than waiting for a better option.

So, unusual situation that it is, I can see the rationale behind it.

Those suggesting Paddy is given the job are overlooking the risk attached to that. Being the Head Coach is vastly different from being an Assistant.

I would expect Parish to have considered all available options before deciding to keep Glasner in place.

I am sure you are right about Parish weighing up the options. I am struggling with the “risk” of appointing an interim. Glasner has 3 points from 27 and we are rock bottom of the from table. There really isn’t much downside risk. If an interim manager wins two more games in the next 10 he’s been a huge upgrade.

I am reminded of the scenario at Liverpool when Roy Evans was managing, through period of mediocrity and dross and Gerard Houllier was brought in to co-manage. If Ollie is packing his trunk anyway, why cant we bring in someone to sit on his shoulder?

And if he doesn't ? Where do you go from there ??

Not to a great place. That’s always the same if changing the manager though. I could equally ask where do we go if we stick with Glasner and results carry on as they are.

What we know for sure is Glasner is overseeing an appalling run of form. We don’t look close to winning a game. We couldn’t beat Macclesfield. Glasner hasn’t shown any ability to change performances or get the best from the players. He’s also behaved in a less than professional way and isn’t committed to the club. Lots of people said it would be better when Munoz and Sarr came back. It isn’t. If anything we look worse. Why do we think it is going to change with Glasner carrying on?

Ok, so Glasner is sacked and Paddy put in temporary charge.

The bad run continues and then we have to sack Paddy. Does anybody want to see that happen ?

Parish decided to keep Glasner in the job and that has certainly led to another set of problems. None of what's happened reflects well on Glasner, Parish and now Mateta.

Putting myself in Parish's shoes, I think he's banking on our returning players plus the new signings to turn things around. And it's entirely possible that will happen. We also have a few potentially winnable games coming up.

If we lose to Brighton then there will be an emotional melt down on here. It will be interesting to see if that would provoke a change of direction but I don't actually think it will.

However, fail to qualify from the Conference League play-off after that and then Glasners position will really come under scrutiny.

Unfortunately, I do give a f**k, and I’d suggest most fans do.

If anyone wants my two cents regarding this season and the last, it is that Glasner has an amazing party trick of galvanising a group of players and playing a unique style of football to have a devastating impact in the short term - FA Cup and Charity Shield.

His party trick stands alone and soon gets found out however. This is why he never stays anywhere long and we’ve nosedived to an embarrassing run of form, winless in months, with Glasner looking entirely incapable of changing things and trying to deflect blame elsewhere.

The whole point of supporting a football team is the here and now. I support Palace as an active action, not for nostalgia or retrospective reasons. When one game finishes I turn my attention to the next. As a result of my particularly unfortunate circumstances, I shall continue supporting Palace, and Palace alone, forever more.

When a manager is unable to win football matches, he is unfit for purpose. Glasner has become unable to win us football matches. He is therefore unfit for purpose. Nothing changes if nothing changes, and we shall continue being unable to win football matches if Glasner stays in charge. He is incapable of adapting to circumstances and the circumstances no longer favour him.

Agree , I’m lost to see how he doesn’t see Palace winning in Europe & cracking top 8 as a CHALLENGE.

He says he wants a challenge well isn’t Palace still a challenge enough OR is he not able ?

He had a chance to shuffle & sub well to get ontop of 10 men but he didn’t.

We are down & lack of spark it comes from the mindset of the coach simple.

As Pardew says we have a very busy summer coming up
New Coaching staff
Kamada end of contract
Lerma wants to go
Clyne is no longer up for it
Wharton could have a big price offered
Uche will be released
So x4 players to replace & Staff
It’s a huge crazy summer coming up

Johnson, Pino, Stand Larson, Guessand all need to turn up now - yet how will a Coach who says “ he does not care” put in the effort to get a team ticking ?
