Glasner Out

Wolfsburg trainer Oliver Glasner expressed disappointment with his club's most recent transfer window in an interview with Sky on Thursday. The 46-year-old complained the the VfL front office failed to deliver on the personnel augmentations he and his coaching staff deemed necessary, saying "We couldn't realize our transfer goals in the attack, which is a pity because we had been talking about it for months."

SportBild have revealed some of the reasons behind Eintracht Frankfurt and Oliver Glasner’s impending separation in the summer.
The first reason behind the separation is the difference in opinion when it came to the squad. Glasner has been openly critical of the imbalance and lack of quality within the squad at Frankfurt. While sporting director Markus Krösche was hoping that Glasner would be able to develop the likes of Hrvoje Smolcic and Faride Alidou, Glasner was not interested and would have preferred more money to be invested into the thin squad to help reach the season goals.

If he's staying, I hope for a full blown Mourinho/David Blaine/Cantona level of insane cryptic interviews for the rest of the season.

"when your wine lacks bubbles ask the sommelier for a straw"

"when men fight men only the battleground prevails"

That sort of indecipherable nonsense indicative of a melt down.

Selling Guehi and selling Mateta are the correct decisions.

Keeping Glasner on.....seems like the wrong decision to me.....But if Parish and co are strongly in favour of a set manager who isn't available till then I can understand it.....Awkward though.

I'd rather Paddy took over.

You can't slag your bosses off like that while you are taking their coin.

He did a lot of whining but took no personal responsibility.

He isn't at a top five Premiership club and top players will want to leave. He knew that coming in.
If we sell Mateta then it's over. Relegation here we come.

One thing no one can argue about is supporting Crystal Palace is all about dealing with highs and lows.
Maybe they thought we were all becoming complacent and needed reminding. Well this has sure done that!!
I said very similar the other day. If anyone expects a prolonged period of positivity then they are either on some very powerful medication or are new to CPFC.

Do you remember the parish and Ian Holloway press conference where they both sat together and announced Holloway standing down?

Perhaps if the relationship isn't to far gone we might get a similar situation? I can't see it tho I feel bridges are well and firmly burnt ☹️

That wasn't a relationship issue, that was Holloway feeling it was beyond him and he should leave as it was best to pull the plug early.

Personally I think the only way he can see out the season is if form starts to turn in our favour quickly. A continued run of defeats is just going to make Selhurst a toxic environment.
Can he turn things around? With the players we have coming back, yes. Will he? Hard to say at this stage

Not everyone thought that, yes the squad was the greatest thing since sliced bread, the manager is a seriously different matter, it was always going to end in tears, is this the moment i said i told you all six months ago, probably not
You haven’t been the knowledgeable one the whole time as you kept saying Glasner was useless. Yes you’re right TODAY he turns toxic, but that’s not what you’ve been trying to say for the last year. He isn’t sh1t and he hasn’t suddenly become sh1t. This mess is down to firstly the ownership and then eventually him.

The Board have spoken. That's a miracle in itself. I was then going to say, we might not hear from The Board again for another few years.
But I think the Palace fan's reaction to Glasner on a matchday(s) is going to steer this one.

Even by the standards of Crystal Palace football club everything that has happened in the last eight days is completely unbelievable. This article is so weird. Guessing they have been fed this but Parish is deliberately giving no quotes.

I am not on powerful medication nor am I new to CPFC.We are certainly in a 'Pickle' and positivity is in short supply.
With the demanding fixture schedule and our injuries the 'Mood Music' was that we face a challenging period, however the reality has far exceeded what many feared.

He’s hardly been firing the goals that could keep us out of trouble though has he? I’d say cash in now while he’s worth a decent lump.
We won’t go down, we’ve got players to come back and on 28 points we could practically draw our way to safety. Current forms not good, but you know what we’re like, we’ll pick up after this storm settles down, it’s the famous Crystal Palace rollercoaster

I think we have one set of tactics and it works well with Munoz and Sarr available (I haven't forgotten Guehi is leaving and so might Mateta). I think if Munoz and Sarr return and we keep Mateta we can make 12th ours again. Persisting with tactics built around those guys will relegate us though if they aren't both back in the team.

I don't think Thomas Frank is the answer. But like a lot of people, I don't know very much about football. 🙂

Indeed, in fact, at the moment he just a 'lump'

It was notable at yesterday’s game that there were no Ollie chants… even before yesterday’s outburst after the match.
