Glasner Out

Glasner and Parish need to do a joint press conference where they announce they're staying together for the sake of the kids.
The players thoughts and attitude to all this hasn't really been mentioned. The performance at Macclesfield asked more questions than provided answers - I suspect Guehi was so poor was because he knew he was off, but the others?

Glasner and Parish need to do a joint press conference where they announce they're staying together for the sake of the kids.

Do you remember the parish and Ian Holloway press conference where they both sat together and announced Holloway standing down?

Perhaps if the relationship isn't to far gone we might get a similar situation? I can't see it tho I feel bridges are well and firmly burnt ☹️

It's being reported that Glasner will not be sacked.
If we go on another unbeaten run will Glasner be a good manager again?

I’ve always rated him as a manager ,was not into that interview .

As an ex restauranter I recall a chef of mine who was due to leave slagging me off ,other staff and the establishment in the next door pub .
Told him the next day to sling his hook .

It was unprofessional, you must see that ?

I am not sure the fans will be particularly sympathetic towards Glasner after this.

Parish in my opinion is playing the game, perhaps saying to Glasner, if you want to leave then quit because you are not getting any compensation.

With regard to transfers, as Lanzo wrote earlier why the hell would we be looking at transfers for a manager who has only 5 months left. It makes no sense. In fact, telling a club, as a manager, that you are leaving makes no sense at all.

People are comparing this to Klopp doing the same thing however there is a massive difference. Klopp wanted to step back from football. Glasner wants to step back from Palace, a point he has made abundantly clear, blaming the Board for his decision. Ok some would say this is reasonable, however he has now done the same thing 3 times in 6 years. Leopards, spots etc?

I still expect him to go quickly, I just think in the background Parish is getting his ducks in a row to make it happen.

Personally I agree with those who say put him on gardening leave, put Paddy in charge, get a couple of loans in and keep any money for the new manager. Move on quickly.

Keeping Glasner till June is the right decision if Glasner himself is 100% committed to staying, turning the form around and having a real crack at winning the CL.
I presume Parish has spoken to OG this morning and established this.
Look, I'm as disappointed as anyone that he went public with his frustrations but our players clearly love him and want to play for him. Thats reason enough to keep him if you are putting the club before your own ego/anger.
Another reason is no one knows our players strengths and weaknesses better than OG. A new guy would need time to start getting the most out of them.
Also, this gives the club time to get Mr right instead of Mr right now. The appointment of Glasner looked to be a perfect one right up until injuries kicked in, results started to suffer and his frustrations started coming through. We all thought he was on board with the way the club was run until the last day of the summer transfer window when cracks in the relationship started to show. This proves that regardless of the amount of due diligence a club does it can still end in tears if your manager isn't honest about accepting the way the club does things. He was angry it took so long to bring in players but we are not top of the food chain. To get the players we want sometimes we have to wait for another deal(s) to be done before the dominoes fall and we get our man. Glasner was always imo a bit naive in not understanding that. Keeping OG in his post (conditionally on his true commitment to seeing it through) gives us time to get it right this time. Who's to say the next guy that comes in is also highly capable AND understands the way Parish runs things if we take our time to identify the best guy?

Sky just announced Board want OG to see our his contract!
WTF
Really!! That is interesting and strangely refreshing. I don't know if that will work but he was adamant that he wouldn't walk out on the players.. If he was trying to get sacked, that didn't work and we can expect more fireworks.

On the other hand, if it could work out maybe this could put some fire in the performances. All I know is, this will rumble on until the next manager comes in.

Waking up this morning I feel weirdly calm about all this, I'm more likely to grab the popcorn than tear my hair out. Which is strange. Maybe we have passed some sort of Crystal rubicon.

Whether he stays or goes, we will be ok. I think most of the time, the incoming manager has been better than the outgoing manager... Until they weren't...

COYP.

Pulis said there had been a meeting attended by himself, the chairman and a couple of players when a deal regarding his severance was agreed. Steve was able to prove to the Judges satisfaction that it was impossible as he was having his hair done, a lengthy process and he was not at the club at the time Pulis claimed.
And Steve’s magnificent hair, especially so for his age, takes a long time.

Wolfsburg trainer Oliver Glasner expressed disappointment with his club's most recent transfer window in an interview with Sky on Thursday. The 46-year-old complained the the VfL front office failed to deliver on the personnel augmentations he and his coaching staff deemed necessary, saying "We couldn't realize our transfer goals in the attack, which is a pity because we had been talking about it for months."

SportBild have revealed some of the reasons behind Eintracht Frankfurt and Oliver Glasner’s impending separation in the summer.
The first reason behind the separation is the difference in opinion when it came to the squad. Glasner has been openly critical of the imbalance and lack of quality within the squad at Frankfurt. While sporting director Markus Krösche was hoping that Glasner would be able to develop the likes of Hrvoje Smolcic and Faride Alidou, Glasner was not interested and would have preferred more money to be invested into the thin squad to help reach the season goals.

If he's staying, I hope for a full blown Mourinho/David Blaine/Cantona level of insane cryptic interviews for the rest of the season.

"when your wine lacks bubbles ask the sommelier for a straw"

"when men fight men only the battleground prevails"

That sort of indecipherable nonsense indicative of a melt down.

Selling Guehi and selling Mateta are the correct decisions.

Keeping Glasner on.....seems like the wrong decision to me.....But if Parish and co are strongly in favour of a set manager who isn't available till then I can understand it.....Awkward though.

I'd rather Paddy took over.

You can't slag your bosses off like that while you are taking their coin.

He did a lot of whining but took no personal responsibility.

He isn't at a top five Premiership club and top players will want to leave. He knew that coming in.
If we sell Mateta then it's over. Relegation here we come.

One thing no one can argue about is supporting Crystal Palace is all about dealing with highs and lows.
Maybe they thought we were all becoming complacent and needed reminding. Well this has sure done that!!
I said very similar the other day. If anyone expects a prolonged period of positivity then they are either on some very powerful medication or are new to CPFC.

Do you remember the parish and Ian Holloway press conference where they both sat together and announced Holloway standing down?

Perhaps if the relationship isn't to far gone we might get a similar situation? I can't see it tho I feel bridges are well and firmly burnt ☹️

That wasn't a relationship issue, that was Holloway feeling it was beyond him and he should leave as it was best to pull the plug early.

Personally I think the only way he can see out the season is if form starts to turn in our favour quickly. A continued run of defeats is just going to make Selhurst a toxic environment.
Can he turn things around? With the players we have coming back, yes. Will he? Hard to say at this stage

Not everyone thought that, yes the squad was the greatest thing since sliced bread, the manager is a seriously different matter, it was always going to end in tears, is this the moment i said i told you all six months ago, probably not
You haven’t been the knowledgeable one the whole time as you kept saying Glasner was useless. Yes you’re right TODAY he turns toxic, but that’s not what you’ve been trying to say for the last year. He isn’t sh1t and he hasn’t suddenly become sh1t. This mess is down to firstly the ownership and then eventually him.
