He is clearly disappointed, annoyed, frustrated with our transfer dealings and he simply expressed his feelings after yet another defeat with emotions running high.
I reiterate that after the Cup Final we lost Eze and our outfield purchases in the summer were Sosa, Canvot, Pino and Uche.There was no cover for Munoz and we have been found wanting in this area whilst he has been out injured.
Prior to the summer, our purchases included Esse and Nketiah and neither have made a significant impact.
In general, our recent acquisitions have not made positive contributions.

What do they call it these days silent quiting? He's hardly been silent but he definitely switched off in october.
 
As far as I'm concerned he's probably the best manager we've had, atleast in the 45 odd years I've been a fan.

Yeah he's throwing it all out there now that he knows he's going, but that's how it goes in every career. When you and your employer knows you're leaving you gain the confidence to be more vocal and truthful about everything that's been pissing you off for so long.

And in terms of what he's saying many agree with his sentiment, even the neutrals have been talking about how abysmal our transfer strategy has been.

He had ambition to take us on to the next level, and I think he's within his rights to complain about that. Now it looks like it's Groundhog day again, scrambling for a new manager who can keep us up and then celebrating if we can crack the top ten again.
I won't be booing him, he's given us the most successful period in our lifetimes and some of the most watchable play to boot. Good luck to him wherever he goes next.

Unfortunately it's the manager's job to deal with these problems.
Are his disappointment, annoyance and frustration any more heartfelt than they are by the fans?

No, but they have been made. Money, quite a lot of it, has been spent on the playing staff, including breaking our record fee on Johnson.

I take your point that his emotions are high, but that doesn't change the facts.

This is not to defend Glasner but to try and see it him from his perspective.
He said he found out about Guehi not playing at 10.30am yesterday after preparing for him to play and then had to tell the team about his absence.
Yes, Glasner is only an ‘employee’ but is this any way to prepare for a game.
Looking at it objectively , there are plenty on here who will agree that the ownership has to use Glasner’s term ‘abandoned’ the team.
Every week we have the weakest bench in the Premier League sometimes containing 2 goalkeepers and a handful of untried youngsters.
Any manager worth his salt would have the same concerns as Glasner has expressed and I don’t blame him for exposing the nonsense.

Why should he protect the board any more?

I’m not suggesting Glasner is without fault, and it would probably be best for all concerned if he did depart early.
But that shouldn’t mask the lack of support from the board over much of Glasner’s tenure which he has called out on a number of occasions.
In that sense it’s nothing new as he’s highlighted broken commitments previously.

Fine, if you want to blame Glasner exclusively much like a spurned spouse, but perhaps take a minute to see if he has a point.

OK. That's a minute. No. He hasn't.
 
Glasner obviously upset about Marc being sold before Sunderland match rather than after….so, what if Steve has a replacement manager lined up and needs to encourage Ollie to quit rather than being sacked. He sells Marc to get Ollie rattled. Ollie quits. New manager starts with a list of recruits lined up.
Steve had known since October so plenty of time to get something on paper as a plan.
 
To understand what OG is saying and to cut him some slack, i think a culture clash is playing a part in his huge frustrations and move to quit.

His experience in Germany is with clubs run more communally with the 50+1% ownership rule which avoids over commercialization and softens pure business decisions from the board to sell top players without a wider stakeholder consensus. The Prem has become a lot more commercially hard-nosed in recent years and with success we were going to have great difficulty keeping hold of our prized gems. So some mitigation for OG and perhaps he will go back home for his next role because the culture of fast profits here does not suit his ethos.

That said, I thought his interviews tonight were fairly peevish when we desperately need a win
