Glasner Out

I wanted him sacked based upon everything we could see from the outside. I was worried that we were plummeting, his influence appeared toxic and his inflexibility was a problem.

Parish will know and see things that we don’t, he was talking to Glasner, hopefully the senior players and may know what options we would have now and in the Summer for a replacement too. I trust his judgement.

I don’t love Glasner as a person but he is a successful coach and he no longer appears to be directly damaging our chance of a decent finish and in the CL. I’m fine with him staying, as long as he gets the results.
Agree with the above.
I am a Glasner empathiser, so my own comments are slanted. I would just add that Glasner putting comments 'out there', he was responding to questions from the media, which he is contractually obliged to do. I fully accept his responses were far in excess of his TV obligations. Obviously upset a lot of fans. We're not privvy to the subsequent conversations between The Board and Glasner (and what the players think). Personally, I'd like to see him stay. Not just because I rate him, but I also don't think there's any better candidates out there capable of working within the Palace structure. I think Glasner is good entertainment value 😀

That's too much glee to consider for a Monday morning beak, let's see how Spuds get on next few games.
They have absolutely no momentum, no plan, no leadership. They have more doom 'n gloom about them than Eeyore. In all honesty i was having a drink on Saturday with a Spurs supporter and they have accepted the grim reaper.

I'm aware of this 🤣

The few that I know put us to shame on this board with their depressive defeatism and bitterness toward their own club!

I pretty much agree with this. His toy throwing tantrum(s) change nothing when you look at his credentials. For me he had loads of credit in the bank after winning both trophies and the unbeaten run but that credit has whittled down to almost nothing after his outspoken and unjustified criticism of everyone except the fella he sees in the mirror but... As I've said before, he knows these players and he knows how to win in Europe. Couple that with him knowing to now attract a top club he has to win the Conference League. Plus Parish has probably made plans for a replacement that cant come into effect until the summer I think it just makes sense to let him see his contract out.

We did finish 3rd in the league though (our highest ever finish), some would argue a better achievement than a cup win.
I think probably a similar achievement. If we'd finished 3rd today I'd say it was probably a better achievement than winning the cup but the Premiership is so much more intense and competitive now than it was then.
Its all about opinions but I personally think winning the FA Cup and following that up with the Community Shield, only conceding 1 goal in the entire competition and being on a 19 game unbeaten run during as well as beyond that cup run makes it the biggest ever achievement Palace have ever reached, by a mile

Bayern were very keen to do exactly that, and were willing to give us a record payoff for him, up until they struck gold with Kompany. Now of course they wouldn’t make the change unless someone poaches Kompany off their hands, only likely Man City or the Saudi clubs could do that.

Real Madrid could quite well go all in on Glasnerball. They’re looking for their next big shiny new thing to be obsessed with for a short time until they get bored again, they’re definitely in the market for a new manager, they have the spending power to produce the highest version possible of his blueprint and see once and for all just how effective it truly is, and they’ve been stung just enough recently to lower their sights away from more established platinum tier managers like your Ancelottis, Guardiolas, Enriques, and Klopps.

Actually a Saudi club might appeal to Oli and vis-a-versa. They’d give him a lot of money to spend and freedom to implement his vision, and there wouldn’t be anything near the same kind of spotlight on him from the media as there is in England, Germany, or a lot of European leagues. Maybe Dougie would fancy bringing him in at Diriyah Club 👀
Real like to keep the ball. Glasner doesn't know what to do with it once possession stats pass the 55% mark.

After his recent public moaning I cant see a top club being interested. He's too high maintenence.

I believe he will be at a Big club when he signs his next managerial contract.

Why would you leave the best domestic league in the world unless there was something bigger on offer?

Under Alonso and now Arbeloa they do, yes. In the past with Mourinho, Ancelotti, Benitez and others it hasn’t always been considered too important.

They will throw themselves behind whatever beliefs their next man has, that’s who they are.

They’re not the kind of club that has core beliefs of it’s own that a manager has to stick to, a la Barcelona, Ajax, Man City, Swansea, Hoffenheim, etc.

Tbf he’s ’staying humble’ now couldn’t be more complimentary of the clubs recruitment today in the presser…

Glasner added: “That was the target of the winter transfer window: to strengthen our attack, because we were often short of numbers, and I think the club did a great job regarding the strengthening our attack.

“The new players are really getting integrated [with the group] very well. It’s not one-way, it’s two-ways, but it’s quite easy because the player who are here are great lads, and so are the new ones as well, so it’s maybe easier.

I’m of the opinion that he’s done a great job and given us our best moments, he’s been ‘a bit emotional’ and let himself down (well not sure about you but I’ve been there!), he’s now doing his best to salvage our and his season and reputation and I’ll be thankful at the end of the season when we’ve given our best whatever the outcome… and dare say we’ll have a new manager. Then jury will be out whether they are better.

So can we expect a better performance. against a team of no hopers, than we did before the 1-0 defeat
