Glasner is a Glazier

That sounds positive that his family are now living in London.
I think the best way for Steve to keep Glasner is to back him and keep the Team together to try and qualify for champions league football next season. If we achieve this I think he's the type of person that would see it as unfinished business and want to stay and carry on, even if it's just for another year and may even help to sway Marc to stay on aswell.
I'm pretty sure Marc's mind is made up. He wants to leave on a free next summer. As long as he gives his all for Palace right up to the day his contract expires I dont begrudge him that wish at all. He owes us nothing.
I do agree though that should we win another trophy and qualify for a big competition next year (Europa or CL) I believe Glasner will want to see it through.

Quite a big ask dont you think
It is. And 6 months ago you wouldn't dare even say that out loud for fear of ridicule but right now finishing 4th doesn't sound quite so far fetched. If Forest can come so close with a good start I dont see why we couldn't go one step further.

This Man United talk is to fill columns and clickbait. It's complete rubbish, Glasner will not go to Man United.

Also, for those who may not be aware of this - if United sack Amorim within 12 months of his appointment, they have to pay him £12m. He is in month 10, with his appointment being in November. Therefore, old penny pincher Ratcliffe is not going to sack him until November. This detail is obviously being left out of any article at the moment, as it would most likely completely negate the rest of the article.

Given the sum that bloke has spunked on that ingrate club I think that is a bit unfair.

I guess Glasner might use the current rumours to negotiate better terms with us.

Meanwhile, I have a mate where a rumour circulated he was changing jobs and going to a rival. The first he was aware of this "move" was when his (then) current employer gave him a 10% pay rise to persuade him to stay!

Saved plenty on all the staff he's let go, perks stopped and now forcing all non playing staff to buy tickets so its not all his money thats been used.
Funny how when interviewed about staff cuts he reckoned the club were months from running out of money and going bust but he could still find £60m for Mbwemo 🤣

Just watching SSN and Kaveh Solhekol has just said the following (paraphrasing):

"I understand that Crystal Palace have held positive talks with Oliver Glasner about the future of the club and that talks over his future are expected to ramp up next week during the international break. The relationship with the club is really good and he's happy there but he wants reassurances over the clubs ambitions to build on what they've already achieved."

Appreciate SSN talk a load of bollocks but fingers crossed they're right on this occasion.
The Mirror suggesting he's declined but that could just be speculative bollocks.

Sky tonight were talking about the possibility of Southgate getting the Man U job and dismissed it - Why would he want to go there? It's a poison chalice, it's too much pressure, who needs it?
Then virtually appointed Glasner.

I really don't get this idea that Glasner would be drooling over a move to Manure. He may (or may not) have said things to journos about it but then he's just about to renegotiate his contract with CPFC. Apart from why would he want to be left wondering 'what if I'd stayed at Palace?' for the rest of his born days and appearing shallow and mercenary, why would he want to go there of all places? Why drop all those league places to somewhere where a very successful coach with a lot of similarities to himself can't get the team successfully to play the same style that his current team do to widespread acclaim? At best he gets to deliver what MUFC feel entitled to and at worst he gets to endure what Amorim's going through while watching the last-mentioned picking up a lot of plaudits and maybe more silverware in his old job.

totally , media doing what they do best make up storys to fit there agender , there the ones saying that Glasner would resign if Guehi left , and we all know how true that is , not , as OG said at no time did he say that , to much click bait about

These outlets also fail to point out why he'd want to go to a club with a toxic atmosphere and some of the most entitled fans in the world where Rangnick, Moyes, Ten Haag, Solskjaer, Mourinho, Van Gaal, Amorim and Moyes have been unable to replicate, or even come very close to, Ferguson's achievements.
Even if OG were to leave there are more attractive jobs than that.

Bookies know nothing in situations like this. A few United people have mentioned Glasner. OG has not (yet) signed a new contract at Palace.
They are putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 'maybe'

I've no doubt United would want him but 1. Will United sack Amorim soon? the truth is they dont want to admit they got another massive decision wrong.
2. Would Palace let him go while he is currently under contract to us therefore totally disrupting our season?
3. Would this job be of any interest to Glasner at this moment? Before anyone says 'but its United, massive club, great opportunity, blah, blah' You need to remember Glasner has already turned down Bayern Munich and Liepsig a year ago and only a month ago ruled himself out of the Leverkusen job. Now these (especially Bayern) are massive clubs, very close to his homeland and they are very well run and he turned them down in favour of staying at Palace.
United is a very BADLY run club and I dont believe Glasner would break a contract to join another club. I know he walked out on Frankfurt but that was different. That was said to be over broken promises from the Frankfurt owners. He did not leave to join another club. In fact he went into semi retirement.

Glasner will leave at some point. Everyone does. I dont think theres a cat in Hells chance it will be before the end of this season and even then I cant see it being to United.
No, Glasner did not turn down Bayern.
Parish turned Bayern down and Glasner accepted that. Just like Olise didn’t turn down Chelsea.

The key is Oli does not like starting jobs during a season in his own words. He has done it only once and that was because Hodgson was unwell.
We are safe until summer no matter what click bait says. Beyond that is the a matter of praying the club convince him to stay by having a good season and backing him in Jan if possible

Entitled fans yes because of their global appeal but those fans in the stadium support their managers. I’ve had my issues with Utd over the years but post Ferguson they have impressed me by getting behind all their coaches in spite of how far they have fallen

They need a winner, nothing short will appease the critcs, Southgate is hard working ,loyal etc (reminds me of a border terrier) but he ain't no winner.

there are certain jobs i wouldn't touch with a ten foot barge-pole. Not for all the money in the World.

- Pope
- PM
- President of the US
- Croydon nightclub bouncer

- ManUre manager
- Real Madrid manager
