Gallagher

Kamada potentially due back on 21 February. There were a couple on here who actually expressed pleasure when he got injured - appalling, regardless of your views on his merits as a player.
My views on Kamada are that he is a very good midfielder and is easily worthy of a place alongside any of Wharton, Hughes, Lerma or maybe even Devenny. We need all of these fit to give us good squad rotation.
I am only disappointed as he is now out so long.

I harrumphed after perusing these words.
Preposterous and reprehensible.
I have been through every post on this thread , not one person has mentioned that they are happy Kamada got injured , sh1t stirring bullsh1t .

It wasn’t on this thread, try looking at the thread for the game where the injury happened. I could even name the poster. Sounds like Willo saw it too. So definitely not ‘s*** stirring bullshit’. Thanks for the apology.

According to Sky he has been sold to Spurs (not Villa) for £34 million.
Shame as I would rather have him than Johnson, much more versatile.

Out of our price range I'm afraid.
One big signing is the limit for SP, together with one of two makeshift and frees+ loans.
It's disappointing that after a decade in the richest league in the world we still can't pay a third of the transfer fee other clubs look at let alone the wages they pay.

Your welcome .

Gallagher looks to be going to Spurs with £34m deal agreed:

Tottenham hijack Aston Villa's January move for ex-Chelsea midfielder

Sky Sport reporting similarly.
Nothing against Johnson, but I'd have preferred we spent the £34 million on Gallagher.
Many on here will disagree, but I just feel Gallagher would galvanise the team and provide the energy and impetus which the team is so lacking.
I understand the argument about systems/ formations with Gallagher and how he would fit in, but the same people point out the inherent fluidity of the system moving between 343 to 541 to 352 as games progress.
It's all academic anyway if he's off to Spurs.

Begs the question of where is all the money. We have billionaire shareholders, money from sales, tv, Europe matches. New stand is now a loan rather than using our own money. And still can’t splash a few quid on quality signings. Something is very wrong atm.

Assume the wages would have been a major issue and as much as we might have wanted this to happen there is no indication he wanted to come anyway.

We cannot afford his 200k wages. The transfer fee is not as big an issue. 10 million + a year wages mean he would cost 70 million over 3.5 years.

I hope you're not suggesting it was me? I certainly never celebrate the injury of any Palace player. And God knows we could use Daichi for rotation right now. I do remember making some comment along the lines of "One small silver lining is that we'll now get to see more of Hughes, who in my opinion, is the best partner for Wharton". Apologies if that came across as celebrating Daichi's injury...it certainly was not meant to. But I wholeheartedly apologise if that was the outtake. I wish him the speediest of recoveries, as I'm sure we all do.
