Dougie on the phone to Wilf and Édouard. It's now reported that Nketiah has picked up a hamstring injury.
Kamada will now have to play in 2 positions- central midfield and part of the front 3!
No question of leaving him out now.
In my opinion, we should be actively discouraging not fully fit players from going. If we can't actually stop them.Let's assume Doucoure is fit for Saturday.
Do we then send him on international duty if selected?
Or Richards with USA if he's now fit?
Or Sarr, or Munoz?
Wharton apparently picked up his injury on England duty.
I dislike these international breaks with a passion.
I know the counter arguments that 'we can't stop them' or 'it's a sign our club is doing well.'
As far as I'm concerned they just accentuate the possibility of injury which further exposes the threadbare nature of our squad.
That would be a recipe for a hiding. Doucoure can’t be fully match fit and Schlupp is at least a stone overweight. If he doesn’t go with Devenney then it has to be Chalobah with Doucoure and either Wardie or Richards filling his place in the back three. If Nketiah is out I imagine it will be Schlupp and Doucoure in centre mid with Kamada in the left side of the attacking three and kids on the bench. In that scenario we might as well go very attacking tactically, try and get a lead then hold on for as long as we can.
