I heard previously that France has the highest social welfare bill in relation to percentage of GDP than any other similar country, but I've no idea if that is still the case.

And still the OECD lowest per Capita spending on soap.

I'm behind these kids in France protesting. They want a better education. Of course the media is picking up on stories where some attack their Profs. which is obviously NOT a worthwhile or acceptable manifestation of protest.

More young people in this country should be protesting. They should be telling the older generations that the youth want a fair slice of the pie. Pay and rent with inflation in this country are absolutely ludicrous and most returns are going into paying the generous retirements of many of the 'ownership class'. I predict a riot.

France has more influence though, second largest economy in the EU, Finland may be important through a long border with Russia, but not snezzing

A serious question, is it better, worse or the same, since Brexit, i haven't been to England for 11 years, so i have no opinion.

The so called official arguments from the politicians at the time, imo never came to fruition. Other issues have arisen and I don’t think anyone can say it’s been plain sailing. Trouble is, you are in or out.. no middle ground and it’s certainly not a pick or mix with the EU.
