FIFA Club World Cup - Anyone Interested?

It doesn’t really have too draw big attention here. It’s mainly another piece of the scheme to draw the US more and more into becoming the almighty dollar of FIFA.
It will get a worldwide viewing anyway.
What with the rise of Arabian, football and the progression being made in the states, as an old hand I can’t help wondering how long our Premier league, stays on its perch.

This competition is just FIFA squeezing more blood out of the football stone. I'm not sure the European clubs are taking it seriously. The vast majority of football fans aren't.

So, I'm starting to prepare dinner for tonight & have the CWC on via DAZN ( the new Saudi streaming platform) its Benfica (taking it seriously) v Auckland 0-0 as it stands, & I've just found out that they pronounce DAZN, "dah-zon" never knew that. Anyhoo gotta go boil me chips. I need a cold glass of Chenin Blanc, *ahem*.

I still think US club football and the Saudi league have a way to go before they can challenge the supremacy of the top leagues in Europe. It's not easy to create something from scratch without there being a firm foundation for it. The US have been trying to build a credible league since the 70s, and, whilst some progress has been made, they aren't there yet.

What we will see, and in fact already are seeing, are players being seduced by the big money on offer and leaving Europe perhaps sooner in their career than they would have done in the past. However, for the moment, the up and coming players, and established stars, still want to ply their trade with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool, PSG etc. and not in some desert wasteland.
