Farewell Eze?

Dry your tears. When Eze is sat on the Arsenal bench you will realise that this was a shrewd move. When the money comes along, you can't refuse it, but reinvest it wisely.
The spine of the side is still intact, I'd be much more concerned should a couple of them move on in the same season.

I think Eze's substitution and body language, 10 mins before the end, told us what we already knew. He has been brilliant and served up many memorable moments and showed commitment today. But I can't help thinking that his form at the end of last season told us we had seen the best of his talent in a Palace shirt.
I wish him well in his new job.
Well as things transpired a deal was not close and nothing was agreed on Sunday so he wasn't saying goodbye. Arsenal didn't come into play until last night and didn't even decide to even make an offer until it was confirmed (on Tuesday) that Havertz was going to be out for a long time.
That said he really DOES get to say a proper farewell tonight and after all he has done for us I'm glad he gets that opportunity.
I just hope the Eze love-in doesn't overshadow what is a massively important game.

Wouldn't even mention him tonight. Don't need a pre-game eulogy for every player that's f**ked off.

The answer to that is we either end up with players not as good as Olise, Eze, Guehi, Wharton etc who want/need to sign new deals at Palace. Or obviously owners who will rebuild 1, 2, 3 or 4 stands fast. I wish I could wave that magic wand and make the latter happen…
I'm obviously not suggesting we sign lesser players. I am simply venting my frustration that we still aren't a club that top players want to say at despite us winning a trophy and the reasons why.

Meanwhile, we have a game on...

I get it. I was so angry when Ian Wright left. It was a shock. Now we are cementing our position as a top league club. That is THE most important thing.

I remember when we sold Sean Scan and Darren Ambrose. My god the fall out from that. Didn’t turn out too bad, did it?

We will survive.

It is, however, essential that we bring in two or three quality players. A look at tonight's line up highlights that rather well.

We let him go for less then the release clause it's poor business.

He was a main part of the team look at his goals/assists and moral is a big thing.

Just £500k less! The release clause was set at an arbitrary figure - an estimate of what his future value might be. And And yet Steve Parish got us within a hair’s breadth of it - pretty good business I would say.

How much up front will we get though, no doubt 50% of the fee at least, maybe more will be on the never never spread over 5 years. That will impact our purchases as you can bet the lump due to QPR will have to be paid in full, so maybe £25m available to put down on new players.

If we got the whole lot up front then great but I can’t see it.

Ollie was not happy at all when asked about Eze. Called in sick… from the mouth of OG.

That’s not good and somebody at Arse has had a word. Naughty but understandable in a way. An injury and all parties f***ed. But I love the coldness of Ollie… move on

Anyone at QPR is languishing.
Now known as Grealishing.
I agree that losing Eze is a real kick in the nuts but as they say "hate the game, not the player" and the game now has no room for sentiment; just money. Overseas owners would willingly sell any or all players provided a viable alternative is nominally available, which in Eze's case is doubtful.
Supporters are emotionally invested in their club whereas the money men aren't (the only joy the owners felt at winning the Cup had pound signs attached) and the only sentiment they're interested in is cynically manufactured.

Glasner is trying to hide how upset he is about the club doing such late business,he has already said it will contribute to an awkward start to the season, clearly he is mulling wether or not to go,the next offer he gets from a big continental club will see i'm afraid his departure. Roy you still there?

It's not looking good. Unless we get 3 or 4 in before deadline day, I would be very surprised to see Ollie at the club at the end of the season

What are you even on about, give what away, mate they'll go to a bank and ask for a 150 million loan against their shares, the bank will rub their hands together and say here you go, but we want 2% interest on it, they will go thanks for that, we get a return of about 8% a year anyway.
so your happy tobe 150m in debt mmmm , that what got us in the shite in 2010

All the top clubs are in debt and there's such a thing as good debt, buy a house with 3% interest in an area that has an increase of 8% a year and thats amazing debt to be in.

A new stand increases revenue and increases the value of the club, we will never ever compete with clubs like West ham and Everton untill we increase our capacity.
