Farewell Eze?

Whilst true in many cases, I doubt that money was a major factor in Eze's decision to leave. I suspect his main aim was to go to a club that will challenge for the major honours and whilst Arenal have fallen short of winning silverware in recent years (won the same as us since Arteta has been in situ) they look like they may break that habit this season. There is also the small matter that Arsenal was his boyhood club.

I'd like to think this as well, but let's not forget he was about to put pen to paper with Spurs had Arsenal not come in for him.

I think he was basically looking for a larger club. Spurs hardly win things every year but I guess they are more likely to than us in the next 5 years, so that may have played into his thinking.

Additionally, he would be more in the shop window internationally, experience larger matchday experiences and so on. The fact his boyhood club came in for him made it a dream move rather than just a career one.

Now the onus is on him to level up and go through the levels he needs to if he is to succeed there: the clock is ticking until the summer's World Cup squads need to be finalized.

Unless he starts to get more game time I can see him missing out on a place in the World Cup squad. He hasn't been an automatic starter in the England side anyway, and Tuchel may not want to include anyone who is rusty, and perhaps down on confidence, as he maybe after being regularly being overlooked for a starting place at Arsenal.

I don't think Tuchel is keen on him anyway. He will only be a bit part currently - and that is diminishing week on week.
 
Dont think Arteta understands that Eze is a walker sort of Trevor Brooking in the old days , we have seen him do it so many times walking round players , never any urgency in his play and would image thats how he is in training

Eze does always look lazy but it doesn't fully mean that he is. I think it's a bit of an issue for him. Even Roy and Vieira couldn't understand him most of the time. I was surprised Glasner stuck with him because he didn't exactly bust a gut to track back. Although he improved somewhat.

was always dangerous when tracking back as not the best at tackling , he was one of them players you let have a free rein , lets face it Zaha and Olise wasnt good either

True, but Olise didn't have long under Glasner and Wilf just didn't have Glasner. I think you'd agree that Glasner demands pressing and tracking back or why the Esse outburst? Another hissy fit perhaps?
 
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This was always going to happen. He will leave Arsenal probably next January after missing the World Cup. He will have medals he didn’t really have too much to do with unlike the winners medal he got with us that he earned.
He will try his luck abroad and then it will circulate he is coming back. Just like Wilf did.

He will will probably head off to Bayern to play along side his mate Olise next January on loan.

On his day he is a world beater but those days and spells can represent feasts amid substantial famines.

I think regular playing time is key for him. In that sense, Palace is about his level because the larger clubs are less forgiving when he goes missing or is out of form.

That said, I very much hope he levels up and makes it work there (just not against us). It would be a shame if he did a Wilf because Wilf was younger and able to enjoy his prime years as a nailed on starter every week. Eze likely only has four or five more years at best before his powers start to wane.

Less than that I reckon, his off the mark to full speed turns are his trademark and you tend to lose that as soon as you hit 30.
