Out wide there is a separate battle for squad places - and from the set up last night (which worked) these are players who go past the full back on the outside to cross in for Kane. He doesn't do that either

Wide players are Gordon vs Rashford and Madueke vs Bowen vs Saka

Jordan Henderson gets in for his personality as a cheerleader (which is weird as he's pretty horrible)

Maybe that's Eze's best chance, a lovely guy - or others bad luck with injury

Might be a similar story at the Arse. He needs to take his chances when he gets them as no longer a nailed on starter.

Eze literally played in that no 10 role for England on Sat.

Rogers proved he's better there last night, but in reality that spot is Bellingham's.

Whaton wont be replacing Rogers, the spot he'll be fighting for is Andersons.
 
If he doesn’t do something special he will end up as a bench player for Arses and possibly squeezing into the England World Cup squad. His best hope is that he builds a winning partnership with Rice for the Arses and that transfers to the England side. He won’t get the wide left sided berth ahead of Gordon or Rashford unless the coach abandons going wide at some point and opts for his wide men coming inside. He won’t get the 10 ahead of Bellingham or Rogers. He might be third in line if they get injured or suspended.
At Arses he won’t displace Odegaard . Can he sit deeper alongside Rice? I’m not so sure.
 
The way it is set up is you are supposed to lay it on a plate for Kane, that's what he is there for, it's been his role throughout his career - a goal hanger who sticks it in the net, which his scoring record attests.
 
Not looking good for Eze at Arses either. Arseteta plays 4:3:3 and has him playing wide left. He looks lost there. I suspect he’ll get hooked second half.

Just played a lovely cross for Gyokeres to score the second so maybe I spoke too soon! Having said that the Forest defender sold the jerseys not heading the long ball before it got to Eze.
 
I thought he played better today than I've seen from him in a long time.

As much as it pains me to say, it looks like he's had a new lease of life so good luck to the lad and I hope his career continues to flourish. He deserves it and I take some solace from the fact that Palace played a vital role in his development.

He played wide left for us for most of his 5 years at the club. Even in ollie's formation he was tending to drift out to the touchline most of the time.
 
As he went off I messaged my son in law who is a gooner and long time admirer of Eze

I know it’s time to leave it alone but it is very telling he’s not playing today. Perhaps Ebs just wanted a free season ticket with the best view.

I can see him not making the World Cup and being a fringe player at best.

He was brilliant for us, Marc plays every game for England if he's fit.
