Farage says he's 'never directly racially abused anybody' after school racism claims

I asked your favourite AI to summarise the difference between socialism and communism. There is a long, detailed explanation but the summary is:-

“• Socialism = “the state (or society) owns or heavily controls the economy to reduce inequality”; can coexist with democracy, markets, and some private property.

• Communism = “no state, no classes, no money, everything owned in common”; a theoretical end-goal that has never been fully achieved at scale.

In everyday political discourse, the words are often used loosely or interchangeably, especially in anti-left rhetoric, but academically and historically they describe distinct (though related) concepts.”

See why you are wrong?

And where you fit in?

Trust you to take a quip seriously.

Of course they aren't the same.

One is a muted stepping stone version of the other.

In the Communist Manifesto (1848), Marx and Engels describe socialism (or more accurately, what many later called "socialism") as a transitional phase or stepping stone on the road to full communism.

Blair leads directly to Owen Jones...and, a lot of middle class blow-hards thinking they have worthwhile things to say.....usually pushing progressivism publicly, whilst practicing tax avoidance privately.

That he is divisive is obvious. I cannot see a prosecution succeeding so also unwise. The last thing we need is for him to be able to play the victim card. Better to let the mud stick than give him the opportunity to make the mudslingers the bad guys.

Could you see any prosecution surviving a CPS review? They wouldn’t automatically be involved in a private prosecution but could be requested to review it.
A private prosecution would be a good first step, many of his class mates are now very rich. This would be a spring board for a possible trial, less onus of proof. So forget the CPS if we go via this route, it is Keir's old place of work anyway.

Sounds like a great idea, let's start with the BBC and ITV for all the racist shows they put on in the seventies.

These guys never learn their lesson.....well the activists anyway.

We will see if the Labour party learnt from what happened with Trump.

Bring it on.....it won't work ultimately but it will at least show to a wider audience how truly horrible these politically desperate people are.

If it was a “quip” it was one frequently used here and well disguised as genuine opinion.

Whatever Marx and Engels thought more than 150 years ago is irrelevant today to modern social democracy. Societies have learned how to blend the wisdom of socialist morality and principles with the motivation and energy derived from the human instinct to protect family and better themselves.

Nothing is perfect. Some things are though better than others.

"No advance in wealth, no softening of manners, no reform or revolution has ever brought human equality a millimetre nearer." [1984, Orwell]

Any private prosecution would be very likely to be referred to the CPS by the defence team on the basis that the prosecution is malicious and lacking evidence. This would not create good headlines. It’s not like the situation with Trump in the USA where he had committed obvious crimes in plain sight, on TV, with hours of recent video as supporting evidence.

With Trump a decision not to prosecute would have been political interference in the justice system. Prosecuting Farage would be the reverse.

Much better to allow the court of public opinion to make their decision.

Good idea. During the Troubles in N.I , most TV portrayals of the irish were a stereotype of drunken violent buffoons. With a Rosary Beads in one hand and a weapon and/or bottle in the other.

Fawlty Towers, Withnail & I. etc.

Racial Prejudice is not just about colour. There is a real reason so few people want to pay their license fee in 'LondonDerry'.
And as for the reporting of Loyalist versus Republican terror ? Balanced reporting ? yeah right.

There are always knock on effects, neither entity bothers me in the least ,I nearly posted who?
So you just want to prosecute who bothers you? Starmer bothers me - he's a kunt. So I'm just going to spam the board about how we all deserve to know his secrets? Is that how this works. I won't stop and think about it. I'll just carry on and on.

No one has tried to stop you yet! I would love to know Starmer's secrets A model train set in the loft a complete collection of the Beano or a dartboard with Maggie Thatcher's face on it,all good choices.
