Farage says he's 'never directly racially abused anybody' after school racism claims

I don't know wisbeach and have never been in any contact with him and our views differ.
OK, according to Wisbech Eagle, not an infrequent poster on HOL, there are no such things as white and black people - the majority of whom I don't think care much about racism.

Obviously Wishbech gets out more than I do! I will have to put myself out more !

Do you think that the majority of the electorate give two figs about supposed racism?

I think they care quite a lot about it.

But I think they are probably more concerned about the current problem of white pre-teen girls being targeted for rape on an industrial scale.
For some reason, most normal people are much less concerned about a few public school types being offended by hurtful words 50 years ago.
Some on here will no doubt argue that the latter is much more serious.

I think it matters more to certain political and racial demographics than to others.

Most of those wouldn't be voting for Farage anyway.

In essence it is an appeal to the independent voter, but due to the economy it's unlikely to matter much. It might restrict a small number of politically correct Tory voters from switching over but that's about it.

Reform are likely to end up at about 35 or more percent by election year.....simply down to economics.

I am explaining that a crime is still a crime whatever the time lapse,ex pupils of Dulwich is hurt and criminal charges may arise. No rethink needed ,you are the one who fails to read what the law says.
Only if there is “concrete” evidence and not just on say so, surely?

Well, if twenty people accuse you the judge will convict on circumstancial eveidence most people think that proof is needed heavy circumstancial evidence is enough, to say the BBC or Joe Bloggs did the same or worse would be taken as a confession. Personally I think Farage will have an Annus Horribilis in 2026.

Like the poll tax?

So you disagree with the protests against Trump right now?
I have no problem with peaceful protests that obey the law. I do not believe in protests based on race hate ,mass destruction or injuring policemen/women.

You are against the pro-Hamas marches then?

Not sure how old you are but the poll tax would not have been destroyed without rioting. Council tax, which we all loath, is a watered down version, albeit much much fairer.

The new Mayor of New York apparently said some controversial things when he was 21. On the BBS they have excused this as student politics.

Of course the same people want to string Farage up for what he may have said when he was a schoolboy.

LOL

The community charge was a much misunderstood change to the way local services were to be paid for. It ensured those who use them, paid for them. Which isn’t much just much fairer it also encourages democracy as when people have to pay their interest in how they are delivered is greater.

I wasn’t Thatcher’s greatest fan but I agreed with her 100% over this. The protests that forced its withdrawal were disgraceful. There was no need for them. The vulnerable and low waged were protected by having the charge refunded.
