FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Palace players always get an easy ride off the fans. All we ask for is a decent effort and if the other team is better, so be it.

Even after Larnaca, the open goals at Strasbourg, the Leeds shambles it was a murmur at worst.

Sometimes there is a basic standard that only the fans can enforce. This is one such performance. Heat has to go back onto this team until they get back to a standard.

1. The Pino chanting needs to stop. He's had enough time.
2. The club must compensate the poor supporters who travelled for tickets and transport. Frankly, the players should volunteer it.
3. Sosa must never play for Palace again. Sell this month to any taker. Bring through Benamar instead.
4. Glasner must be pulled off his high horse. His 'you're lucky to have me' s*** seems to be rubbing off on the team. He isn't demonstrating the tactical nouse to manage at a higher level anyway. Commit to the club this month or take the decision out of his hands and line up the replacement with a thank you for the great work up to now.
5. Get the Munoz replacement/backup in. The team is a shambles without that position filled.

Far too many of this group are getting under the impression that they're bigger than the club without delivering any recent evidence of it and it is spreading through them like a virus.

The players do which is why I have been calling them out this is on them but yes a lot of people who like to always pass it on to likes of manager.

1. agree
2. disagree with club it's on the players who are never going to do this.
3. said it when we signed him must be reason hes so cheap and other clubs kept bouncing him about. (typical SP not buying to improve but to just have numbers samething he does with renewing peoples contracts)
4. disagree (OG has earnt his status & why should he commit he has a contract until end of season)
I would think they have a list of people they will line up for replacements if he doesn't re sign (the club likes to keep old lists they have done this in the past with managers plus players)
5. agree

Well, in fairness, losing to Newcastle away, Man City or Leeds away is a bit different from losing to Macclesfield. Yes, we have been limited without Sarr and Munoz, along with Mateta being out of sorts, and that is the difference between winning and losing.

We need to sort out set play defending and improve our own set plays. Our corners and free kicks have been rubbish lately. I was surprised Pino scored a free kick today. The only positive.
I agree it is different but not so different to losing to Larnika or drawing with KUPS. Reality is we haven’t put in a complete performance since Liverpool at home

Giving pino a chant has puffed his head right up

I'm sorry, why should we move on after this embarrassing result? Are you actually a Palace fan?

Anyone with a brain would know the squad needed fresh players for the Euro campaign and so many fixtures. The buck stops at the top.
I do not disagree about the lack of investment and have posted several times that we have missed the boat.
But once the window shuts, there is nothing that can be done so to keep having the same moan is pointless.
I am as angry about today as anyone, and even been critical of players which I do not normally verbalise, but they all deserve a lambasting along with OG for the way they were sent out.

Earlier I suggested the players should donate their weeks earnings to charity, which I'm sure wont happen, but the club should refund the cost of tickets to all those fans who travelled to the match and were so badly let down.
I believe that's what Simon Jordan did when we lost 5-0 away to Wigan back in the mists of time.

We all know that we didn’t strengthen the team enough but once the summer window closes you have to work with what you have.
It is then up to the manager to utilise the squad as best he can. I agree that this is limited in terms of quality but even our u21 should have been able to win today with the right effort and attitude.
What is so f***ing boring is that whenever we have a sh!t result like today people bang on about Parish and the board.
It’s f***ing boring
Get over it and move on.

This is because it's been a problem for a long time.

We have needed cover for years and they don't solve it this is why people get annoyed.

The club doesnt try to move forward under like of SP

What does it take we go and win a cup get into european comp and still wont go invest or back manager.

Look at that summer window we allowed Eze to go fairly late and then was going to allow Guehi to go on last day (Igor was to be his replacement enough said)

Look at this window so far they go get 1 transfer in quickly that is it nothing else.

The work load could explain those poor performances.

We need to get better, that's for sure. I think I'd be more concerned if we didn't have a 14 point lead over West Ham.

What happened to good old wide players in a 4-4-3 or the like ?
Playing two No 10s either side of a striker and relying on wing-backs for width when one is not adept at getting forward and these players can get in a position where they are part of a back 5.
Today, absolutely no threat from out wide, every cross was headed out by a Macclesfield player.
This will go down as one of the worst results in our history. 😡 😡
The problem with relying on the wingbacks… we didn’t have a single one playing. That tends to be a major set back in these situations.

I just don’t understand why we started with a weakened team (as we did in the conference league).

I said this before the kickoff - go strong and withdraw players if you ha the luxury of a cushion. Hope Ollie acknowledges this was the wrong decision by him.

we had the only other 3 players available on the bench.

do you really think those 3 players would have made a difference?

well here is the answer because we saw it they came on no it didn't.

If anything maybe we should have played more kids some of them in first half of conf looked good.

There’s plenty of blame to go around. We should have invested in the summer in key areas. That’s on the board.

However, OG needs to take accountability for some of the shocking performances. Squad depth isn’t why we lost today or failed to beat KUPS at home. His tactics don’t work against teams that let us have the ball and he cannot or will not adapt.

Finally the players need to take a long hard look at themselves. Nobody has shown any leadership, desire or fight. They all need a collective kick up the backside

Did you not watch the game?

This is why people are so annoyed the players looked like they couldn't be arsed.

Guehi was just launching long balls all the time to nobody not showing any leadership what so ever.

You got other players like Wharton who didn't look like they wanted to be there.
I did, and we weren't bothered.

If we win the Conference Cup, you won't be either.

I rate the FA Cup as second only to the League for importance. Glasner has to be held responsible for this ghastly result. He decided to field that poor team to play against a motivated and physical team.

Mind you, the players need to take a long hard look in the mirror about being embarrassed by such lowly opposition. Fans have expectations, and as defending cup winners, we should rightfully expect that title to be fought for.

Showing a little bit of respect to the opposition, whoever they are, wouldn't go amiss.
I completely get what you mean by this and agree. In one way though I’d like us to be a bit less respectful. Play a more attacking formation and go out at absolutely full tilt attacking play from the get go. Impose ourselves on the game. Play ultra high tempo, flood forward. Take them on one on one. Do that and you could be out of sight after 20 mins. Go for the jugular

What we did today was play a rigid system, pass it around at the back, slowly build up and never made a single run. It was slow, defensive, boring and tepid. That is 100% on the manager
