FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Glasner's whole game is based on this fallacy. In reality you need players who know the position inside out for it to work efficiently. Glasner doesn't have that luxury, but being stubborn and having no other plan he shoehorns players into roles they are incapable of fulfilling.
Teams have now found an effective way of countering our set-up, can Glasner find a different mode of operation? I have my doubts.
Our team plays well when we are able to push Mitchell up with Pino on the left and Munoz with Sarr up the right. The double threat doesn’t allow teams to drift defence as they are always worried about one wing or the other.

We don’t have the players available currently to play like this but as some have rightly said Glasner is trying to shoehorn incorrect players into our standard system whereas he should be looking for a system that works with what we have.

He has not adapted to the situation we find ourselves in and I lay 60% of the issues at his door and 40% at the players although I have to say some of the players look completely confused.

At the end of the day, Glasner simply didn't put a strong enough team out to deal with what was always at the very least going to be a right old battle against a lower league team totally up for it.
I watched all the other matches last night with Premier League teams playing with pretty well full sides in matches they desperately wanted to win in what we all know is the greatest domestic cup competition on the planet.
Through our actions, we actually disrespected the very competition that gave us our greatest triumph.
They saw us and probably felt inspired not to go down the same s*** pit

I am still so pissed off. We will never live it down.
I heard it described as the biggest upset in Fa Cup history, but is it actually the biggest upset in world football?
If it was just a one off it would probably soften the blow a bit. But how many times this season have we witnessed such a lacklustre performance from Palace. And i'm not buying its because they are tired. A tired Palace should still be able to beat a fully fit Macclesfield.
And these performances started against Fredrikstad before the game pile up started.
Whatever happens this season we will always be the Premier League team that lost to non league Macclesfield.

It could be worse . If we were still 4th we’d have lost to a team 126 places below us. I think like everyone else if we had to go out of the cup then that club deserves their moment of glory. Call it karma because if you’d said to me back in May : yes you can win the cup but next year lose it back to a non league team I’d have been ‘glad all over’.

This was an utterly disgraceful performance against a side that in theory our academy side should have beaten. The abuse aimed at OG is also disgraceful too, our last match against Villa was a sterling performance against an in form team which proved the players were fully behind OG.No excuse but the pitch didn’t do us any favours, let’s go and win the conference league and concentrate on climbing the league COYP

I would be very interested to know what Guehi and our fans behind the goal were talking about after the game. It looked like a lengthy heart to heart sort of chat. I maybe wrong. Was anybody part of the discussion?
