Macclesfield is quite close to where i live and it's a nice tidy set up.
It's not Macc Town - they went bust - it's a new club, so we have never played them before.
When they reformed (a local business bought them for £500k) they moved through the non league pyramid predominantly by paying high wages for the league they were in.
Lat year they put minority owner Robbie Savage in charge and they won league the league to get promoted to the Conf North. Robbie then moved to Forest Green and took 3 of their best players with him (as he knew what their undisclosed release clause amounts were!).
Their current manager is ex player Adam Rooney who is is Wayne's older brother. Some teams in the Conf North are professional or near professional (40 week contracts) so Macc have found this season more hard going.
Despite the old Macc Town getting low attendances, often c,1500, the new club often get 3k per game. I think as they run a successful boys and girls club (teams c6 to 16 years old) they give cheap tickets to parents etc.
It costs £19 to go to a game, although i suspect prices might go up for our game.
As has been mentioned they have a plastic pitch.
The away end is an open terrace - it is not that big, probably holds c 1k. They usually give a section of main stand seats closest to the away end to the away team too.
The train station (direct trains from Euston) is not overly close to the ground, maybe 25 to 30 minutes walk. It's a similar walk to the city centre in the opposite direction, maybe slightly less.
