That’s good, at least four premiership teams guaranteed going out in this round!!

All I ever wanted was for Palace to win the FA Cup.That’s good, at least four premiership teams guaranteed going out in this round!!

A good draw for Macclesfield supporters playing a PL team at home. It's Macclesfield

This was my immediate reaction.A banana skin of a draw.

You’ve been reading the Brighton press. It should not be and would be the most unlikely defeat in our history since we lost to Yeovil zillions of years ago. A banker if ever there was one.A banana skin of a draw.

With four Premier League teams definitely out and another six out of form teams at high risk of defeat, the omens look good for another Cup run.

Just how we like it Oop North, though unfortunately they have a plastic pitch. It's going to be dire, playing oop north. Clogging a ball around a potato field, dark skies overhead throwing buckets of rain down into the howling wind, in sub-zero temperatures.
The language barrier when trying to get a beer, and having to pay in Groats and shiny stones.
Still, it'll be good for the young supporters to see how things were when their great-grandad went to watch football.

Normally I’d agree with you as I know what we can be like in the cups, with team selection and performance. But with Ollie probably putting out a strong side as he does and this lot being only 6th tier and not even in the top half of their division, even accounting for an early onslaught from them on a difficult pitch, it should be a fairly comfortable afternoon for us 🙏🏽A banana skin of a draw.

I have no recollection of our team playing Macclesfield.
Apropos their previous managers, both Sol Campbell and Paul Ince once occupied that position.
Neil Danns’ last gig as a player was as player-manager of Macclesfield. You're forgetting that other premier league 'great' Robbie Savage
Apparently, (after listening to their current manager on 5 live Monday Night after the draw) when Savage left for Forest Green Rovers he stripped Macclesfield of four or five of their best players (Venables vibes)
So they've done great with rebuilding and with a player promoted to Manager and half a new side to reach the third round
Must be first choice for the TV coverage

I wasn't aware of this fact, thank you very much for this information.Neil Danns’ last gig as a player was as player-manager of Macclesfield.
We have never played Macclesfield or Macclesfield Town in a competitive game (see the match database).

Exceedingly useful information.Much appreciated. 👍Macclesfield is quite close to where i live and it's a nice tidy set up.
It's not Macc Town - they went bust - it's a new club, so we have never played them before.
When they reformed (a local business bought them for £500k) they moved through the non league pyramid predominantly by paying high wages for the league they were in.
Lat year they put minority owner Robbie Savage in charge and they won league the league to get promoted to the Conf North. Robbie then moved to Forest Green and took 3 of their best players with him (as he knew what their undisclosed release clause amounts were!).
Their current manager is ex player Adam Rooney who is is Wayne's older brother. Some teams in the Conf North are professional or near professional (40 week contracts) so Macc have found this season more hard going.
Despite the old Macc Town getting low attendances, often c,1500, the new club often get 3k per game. I think as they run a successful boys and girls club (teams c6 to 16 years old) they give cheap tickets to parents etc.
It costs £19 to go to a game, although i suspect prices might go up for our game.
As has been mentioned they have a plastic pitch.
The away end is an open terrace - it is not that big, probably holds c 1k. They usually give a section of main stand seats closest to the away end to the away team too.
The train station (direct trains from Euston) is not overly close to the ground, maybe 25 to 30 minutes walk. It's a similar walk to the city centre in the opposite direction, maybe slightly less.
