I will have a bit of that. Stick it in the changing room as we win the europa and finish 5th 👍The all knowing Sky Sports News has us down as favourites for the drop according to the studio guests last night on the Transfer show along with the 3 new teams. Honestly I have started watching games on any Channel I can find rather than listen to the dross this s*** channel puts out. Being that most of the year we will be the 2pm on a Sunday kick off we can look forward to Glenn Murray as co comms or the Dreadful Alan 'I worship Arsenal' Smith... and if we are lucky Merson talking bollocks before and after the match.

Quite right.I treat predictions the same way I treat film reviews: someone else's meaningless opinion.

That is bang on !From what ive seen on sky, when pundits talk about us, they have literally no idea what they're talking about and clearly haven't seen much of us, unless its Clinton Morrison. They've looked at us, seen glasner has left and thought I'll pick them.
How many times do they say how hard selhurst is to get a result at, when we all know our home form is terrible. The best was when we had zaha benteke and townsend as our front three, i think every game was, this front three can cause damage to anyone in the league, i think townsend and benteke had about 3 goals in 2 years between them.

Spot on. It's the guest pundits that are the worst. You would think they would at least do some basic research as they are being paid. But when you here comments about Fortress Selhurst (if only) you know they just turned up on the day. From what ive seen on sky, when pundits talk about us, they have literally no idea what they're talking about and clearly haven't seen much of us, unless its Clinton Morrison. Premier League predictions: Phil McNulty previews new season
How will your club fare in the 2026-27 Premier League? BBC chief football writer Phil McNulty makes his annual predictions.www.bbc.co.uk

I think the difficulty is the number of unknowns.
1. New manager (and new to EPL)
2. New players but many unproven in the EPL
4. Losing Guehi (in Jan) and Lacroix so unknown how the ‘new’ defence will fare.
5. Not a good league campaign last year due to AfCon, Injuries and fatigue from Europe.
We do have a bigger squad this year with more depth so hopefully point 5 won’t be as big an issue this year but it all hinges on how the new players settle and the squad gels under Sage.
If Sage builds on Glasner’s success and the players gel into the system then we could have a good season. If the defence doesn’t come together and the forwards struggle to fire we will obviously be in trouble.
The Europa League will be fun and allows us to give the whole squad time on the pitch but I’m not expecting us to win it (hopefully I’m wrong). I’m thinking the Europa League has given us the opportunity to buy some quality to bed in and build a bigger squad with some youth to develop so next season, when we potentially don’t have European football, we can progress as a club. It’s forced the ownership to invest in having more depth for once. The teams that didn’t have Europe last year achieved higher league positions as it’s all they had to focus on (Brentford, Brighton, Sunderland & Bournemouth). Hate to say it but Brighton have managed to progress as a club since achieving Europe by building a squad and going again. We need to do the same and not rely on a small squad like in previous seasons.

A supporter commented to me about a "Scattergun" acquisition policy, not addressing what he believes are glaring vulnerabilities in the defence and central midfield. We have signed six players but not one of them would make our best xi right now. That’s my only concern. But if you want to judge on preseason Liverpool must be in a relegation fight already.

We have signed 2 central defenders (Tomayasu and Mingueza) so far and 1 central midfielder (Kamada) as well as a central midfielder coming back from long term injury (Doucoure). The window is still open and there are likely to be more signings.A supporter commented to me about a "Scattergun" acquisition policy, not addressing what he believes are glaring vulnerabilities in the defence and central midfield.
He is not exactly over-freighted with optimism apropos our prospects in the forthcoming season.
