f***ing Sky!

I’m expecting us to be better than the 3 promoted teams but that’s about all. I’m going by the fact that our friendly performances have been so poor. And I’m not sure our buys so far are good enough to hold a place in the starting 11. Plus we are weaker without Lacroix. What with the possibility of 60 games again I’m not sure our team is good enough :-(

The all knowing Sky Sports News has us down as favourites for the drop according to the studio guests last night on the Transfer show along with the 3 new teams. Honestly I have started watching games on any Channel I can find rather than listen to the dross this s*** channel puts out. Being that most of the year we will be the 2pm on a Sunday kick off we can look forward to Glenn Murray as co comms or the Dreadful Alan 'I worship Arsenal' Smith... and if we are lucky Merson talking bollocks before and after the match.
I will have a bit of that. Stick it in the changing room as we win the europa and finish 5th 👍

They get more wrong than right , they have relegated us 6 or 7 times since promotion , 90% of the time they don't have a clue , they work on law of advantages , if you repeat things enough it could be right eventually , abit like some on here every season

From what ive seen on sky, when pundits talk about us, they have literally no idea what they're talking about and clearly haven't seen much of us, unless its Clinton Morrison. They've looked at us, seen glasner has left and thought I'll pick them.

How many times do they say how hard selhurst is to get a result at, when we all know our home form is terrible. The best was when we had zaha benteke and townsend as our front three, i think every game was, this front three can cause damage to anyone in the league, i think townsend and benteke had about 3 goals in 2 years between them.

That is bang on !

They have no idea and when it comes to predictions like to say that two of the promoted sides will go down and one will stay up then cast around looking for someone in the league and there is enough easy negative coverage of Palace to just go for us. Regular targets in recent years like Wolves and disaster club WHam have gone

We have lost a quality player but we have got a stronger squad and hopefully a couple more to add

If Sage can replicate his efforts in the French league and get perfomance level up across the squad we can have a good season. He knows he has a tough job and had a reality check. But that's why he is being paid the big bucks.

Well what do people really think will happen?

Will we finish in a league position which means we get some sort of European football or may get it via one of the cups?

If being realistic I think winning Europa League will not be easy a lot of big names in it and I don't see us winning a domestic cup.

I got a feeling we wont end up in league position wise in European spot either.

If we still had OG I would feel different.

I hope I am wrong and new manager and these players come together and we either win something or do finish in a place even if its on for Conference League next season.

Now on to Sky they have been s**t for decades I really don't know why people continue to pay for it and last few years when you think it cant get any worse it has.

Even Clinton is a clueless idiot and is when it comes to Palace all about his buddies or repeating the same as the rest of them when it comes to players they rate only.

Spot on. It's the guest pundits that are the worst. You would think they would at least do some basic research as they are being paid. But when you here comments about Fortress Selhurst (if only) you know they just turned up on the day.

I think the difficulty is the number of unknowns.
1. New manager (and new to EPL)
2. New players but many unproven in the EPL
4. Losing Guehi (in Jan) and Lacroix so unknown how the ‘new’ defence will fare.
5. Not a good league campaign last year due to AfCon, Injuries and fatigue from Europe.

We do have a bigger squad this year with more depth so hopefully point 5 won’t be as big an issue this year but it all hinges on how the new players settle and the squad gels under Sage.

If Sage builds on Glasner’s success and the players gel into the system then we could have a good season. If the defence doesn’t come together and the forwards struggle to fire we will obviously be in trouble.

The Europa League will be fun and allows us to give the whole squad time on the pitch but I’m not expecting us to win it (hopefully I’m wrong). I’m thinking the Europa League has given us the opportunity to buy some quality to bed in and build a bigger squad with some youth to develop so next season, when we potentially don’t have European football, we can progress as a club. It’s forced the ownership to invest in having more depth for once. The teams that didn’t have Europe last year achieved higher league positions as it’s all they had to focus on (Brentford, Brighton, Sunderland & Bournemouth). Hate to say it but Brighton have managed to progress as a club since achieving Europe by building a squad and going again. We need to do the same and not rely on a small squad like in previous seasons.

We have signed six players but not one of them would make our best xi right now. That’s my only concern. But if you want to judge on preseason Liverpool must be in a relegation fight already.

McNulty above predicted Brighton 9th but they have lost effective players for them and not sure why they should be immune from the difficulties of playing twice a week with Europe. And the conference league has it's challenges. Their conference playoff tomorrow is away to Tromso, the most northerly football club in Europe (or one of them) and then they play Sunday at 2pm. Through gritted teeth, yes, they have progressed well as a club - but surely it's time for a blip in their successful recruitment model?

A supporter commented to me about a "Scattergun" acquisition policy, not addressing what he believes are glaring vulnerabilities in the defence and central midfield.
He is not exactly over-freighted with optimism apropos our prospects in the forthcoming season.

What makes my blood boil is when Paul Merson is unable to pronounce a foreign player’s name and the rest of the panel all laugh at his ignorance. Is it funny to portray yourself as an idiot?
Also when Jules is the anchorman and the pundits use his name every sentence. Jobi McAnuff is the worse. WE KNOW WHAT HIS NAME IS 🤬!

So I guess Sky had us down to lose FA Cup , Charity Shield & lose Conf league

Well ………

Predictions from that bunch don’t even listen ,Chris Sutton had us down for losing so many games we went on a brillant run.

The best critic’s are the supporters of CPFC & let’s face it we are & we err on side of caution but by f*** the new coach & players have a lot of self proving to do & it may just be the doing of us

See come 1st international break

We have signed 2 central defenders (Tomayasu and Mingueza) so far and 1 central midfielder (Kamada) as well as a central midfielder coming back from long term injury (Doucoure). The window is still open and there are likely to be more signings.
