I didn't watch all of the Arsenal game last night, but from the little I saw he looked decidedly off colour.

His capricious talent is going down the pan. Shame.
 
He quickly became an Arsenal legend by scoring a hatrick against Spurs. Since then, not really much to gloat about. He was barely used in the World Cup and now a benchwarmer.

Nothing bad to say about him. He was fantastic for us - contributed towards one of the most success periods in Palace history.

I’ve met him a few times at Palace, genuinely a top bloke.
 
Eze has had one or two decent games for Arsenal, but all to often he looks ineffectual , rarely on the ball contributing nothing much. Some games his team mates seem to constantly bypass him. Only conclusion is he doesnt suit their style, if so his career will take a hit ,if he doesnt play and play well his England place will be the next to go.

Agreed on all points. He backed himself to step up a level (several levels, really) and nail down enough minutes at Arsenal. But it hasn't happened consistently for him so far. I think he is the sort of player to flourish when he is playing regularly.

In some ways it is sad to see because he got a lot of minutes with us. He was a fulcrum around whom the likes of Sarr and JPM operated so well. I thought he linked up brilliantly with Munoz when the latter made those lung bursting runs down the right. The FA Cup semi final and final goals in 2025 are good examples.

But he's made his bed and for now at least needs to lie in it. The fact he has added to his medal collection, notwithstanding the minutes on the pitch, is probably important to him as well so it is not all doom and gloom.
 
Being a squad player for arsenal and competing in every competition they play in, including the champions league is still far more attractive than starting every game for palace for a professional footballer. He's in the England squad, Wharton can't get nowhere near it. Why would he take a backwards step and rejoin us ?

Spent this evening on the England bench. I suppose it makes a change from the Arsenal bench.

And you think that would change if he played for us ? He's not good enough to start for England regardless who he plays for. Being a squad player for England and Arsenal is in no way a failure, his achieved far more than 99.9999999% of every professional footballer that has ever played the game.

In modern football with the amount of subs at club level and the rest of the squad at international level on the bench it’s the law of averages that there’s a heck of a lot of players who will be ‘on the bench’ so it can’t really be used as a stick to beat someone with in trying to prove that they’re a failure

I don't care whose bench he's on - it's their loss. He is my favourite Palace player for decades. Those old enough to remember them still talk about Rogers and Byrne and Eze will be the same in years to come. Even without his cup final goal he'd be one of our great players. With it he's a legend.
